Jason & Robin say goodbye.....

Scene opens with Robin standing on "the bridge". She hears footsteps. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath, and smiles.......

Robin: "I didn't hear the motorcycle." (Jason walks up behind her)

Jason: "Pete drove me." (slowly he walks up next to her)

Robin: "Does the hospital even know you're out?"

Jason: "Yeah. I got Alan & Monica to sign me out."

Robin: (turns to look at Jason) "It's too soon."

Jason: (looks at Robin) "You want me to go?"

Robin: "NO." (goes to him. they put their arms around each other. Robin starts to cry) "I want you to stay. I want to stay with you.....forever." (each has tears in their eyes)

next scene opens with Jason walking away from her.

Jason: "You know I only came here one time while you were gone. I stood up on the wall. I tried so hard to imagine you were with me. But all I could feel was that ache inside me. And I didn't want to close my eyes, because I knew when I opened them......there'd be nothing but dark. So I ah.....I went to Jake's and got into a fight" (Robin wipes tear away & laughs) "which didn't make it better." (Jason looks at Robin) "but I learned something. I'm okay without you." (Robin wipes away tears) "I hate it, but I'd hate it worse if I was hurting you. Or keeping you from your life. Robin.....I want you to go. I want you to go to Paris. I want you to be happy and not worry about me." (Robin smiles)

Robin: "That's the plan." (turns away, wipes tears, takes deep breath) "Stand on a bridge over the Senne. Look up at the historical buildings. Learn to think in a different language." (pauses) "forget about this bridge. Your face & how it feels to love you." (looks at Jason) "You think I can do that?" (smiles) "Or do you just think I'm lying to myself?"

Jason: "I think if you'd stayed.....you'd be lying to yourself. Or pretending. Which is the same thing. Brenda does it. She says she's happy but you know she's not. You can tell. Sonny knows it. It makes him crazy. He can't say anything because what is there left to say? I mean that's the only way they can be together. Look I don't want that for you Robin. I don't want you afraid of seeing me shot. Or getting shot yourself. And I don't want to do what Sonny did and walk out of Luke's and watch you die. Now I couldn't stop you if you wanted to stay." (pauses) "It's not up to me what you do with your life......but I'm kinda glad that's not what you want either. Because your future is so important to you. And you should have it."

Robin: "I will. And I believe you will too. Jason, you know what faith is right?"

Jason: (shrugs) "Not really. I mean trusting what isn't there?"

Robin: (shakes head) "That's it exactly. It's beyond trust. Faith is trust mixed with hope. Trusting something you've never seen. I have faith in your future. Maybe neither one of us can see it right now, but it's going to happen. Whatever it is, I'll love you."

next scene opens and they are standing looking over edge of bridge

Jason: "The 1st time you said you loved me," (takes deep breath), "was the 1st time I knew what it meant." (Robin turns to look at Jason) "I mean the Quartermaine's used it as leverage. 'We love you Jason. Do what we say. We love you. Pretend to be our son.'" (Jason looks at her, and leans on hands) But when you said it.....I understood it. And all I wanted to do was love you back. And now the best way for me to do that.....is to let you go." (Robin looks away, crying) "You deserve a chance at everything you want. Everything. To be a doctor. To be a mother. To be a wife."

Robin: "Someone else's wife." (They look at each other)

Jason: "I guess.....if you met a guy in Paris," (Robin smiles) "I'll hate his guts and probably want to kill him" (Robin laughs) "but as long as he makes you happy."

Robin: "I hope you find someone.....who accepts you.....and doesn't try to control you to keep you safe. Who knows? It might even be me in 10 years or 2. I'm not asking you to wait. We don't belong together now. But what changed could someday change again.......Maybe not."

Jason: "I don't know. If a girl likes me and wants to sleep with me, I probably will. I might even like her. But," (looks at Robin) "I don't see how I could love her....." (Jason's voice trembles) "she wouldn't be you." (Robin looks at him, smiles) "Robin you made me. You gave me everything I have inside." (crying) "You said you couldn't love your life until I walked in it. Well, I couldn't love at all until you taught me." (Robin crying) "And now I know.....and I almost wish I hadn't, because it hurts to much to lose you. It's worse than anything I ever felt."

Robin: "Jason." (grabs his hand) "You're not losing me. You can't. Everything I'm moving toward.....the future. Even if I find it with another person, I'll always know that you gave it to me. You were right. We're part of each other." (Jason nods his head)

Jason: "I know.....but you can't hold what's in your hearts." (Jason's voice is cracking) "Can I hold you now?.....because I'm never going to see you again." (Robin goes to him. They put their arms around each other. Both crying. Jason wipes his tears away.)

Next scene opens and they are still in each other's arms.

Jason: "When do you have to go?"

Robin: "Soon."

Jason: "Well Pete and I can drive you to the airport." (They let go and look at each other)

Robin: "I'm sorry. I promised Uncle Mac." (Jason wipes away her tears, then holds her head in his hands. She puts her hands on his arms) "Besides I don't think I could say goodbye to you in front of all those people. You're the only one who knows 'strong brave Robin' is an act."

Jason: "You're alot braver than me."

Robin: "Jason, if you hadn't done this. If you hadn't come here, I would've gone to Paris thinking I ruined everything between us......Thank you."

Jason: "I didn't do anything."

Robin: "You always say that, and it's never true."

They kiss, and the scene ends with Robin & Jason's song, "Dance With Life", showing scenes of their romance.
