Those lips, those pecks! Simon Rex reeks with beefcake allure, but don't let his heart-throb VJness fool ya. Yeah, sure, the guy is really great-looking, but off camera he's every bit the nice boy next next door. The truth be known, he's actually kinda dorky. "I'm pretty much myself with a mike in my hand," he says over the crashing waves at the beachhouse. I sat stupid stuff and cheese it up and talk like I'm hanging with my bestfriends." Cheese being the operative word, Simon's brand of goofy humor is just what MTV's 50 million viewers ordered. He's hot, and the execs know it, which is probably why he was literally handed his genius gig after a fluke stand-in rehersal for Kennedy. "I was never a lucky guy, but my life certainly took a right turn that day!" At 22, Simon's definitely lucky to a have a nice, tidy contract with MTV and, since his salary is slim, he says his co-VJs are the best part if the job. "Idalis is way funnier when she's not on TV. She's like a tough girl from Brooklyn, one of those smart-ass types," Simon says, in between dealing with the 15 people waiting for him to do the next round of video introductions. As for the future, Simon has no worries. "If nothing comes after this...whatver. I'm loving every second of my 15 minutes of fame."
