DEREK RAYNE, PHD is the leader of the San Francisco Legacy House. His father, Winston Rayne, was the former Precept, but was killed by demons in front of his son, thus giving Derek the motivation to continue his father's work. Although not consumed by revenge, Rayne is now firmly committed to his role in life. He holds doctorates in Biological Anthropology and Theology, and also possesses psychic abilities that allow him to read the minds of others in distress.
