George Clooney
George Clooney. That name has the whole worlds attention.
The show that made him a star, ER, is a household name. Anyone, if they have ever watched the show or not, could recognize him on sight. This future Batman, who, I might add, is perfect for the part, is one of the most famous people in Hollywood. "It's his eyes," says Nicole Kidman. "He can say so much without saying a word" (278 Vanity Fair December. 1996).
But for this wonderful actor, fame was hard to find. He started out with, what he calls, "bad television." He was in 8 pilots that were never picked up, and some pretty awful movies, including Return of the Killer Tomatoes. He thought that he had finally made it when he got a role in the hit sitcom The Fact of Life in 1985, but it wasn't so. Until he won his spot on ER, and the country's new prime-time heartthrob emerged (278 Vanity Fair).
And we will never forget the wonderful romantic comedy, One Fine Day. George and Michelle Pfeiffer co-star as two single parents who just happen to meet on the front steps of their childrens school, after ariving late for a feild trip, and with their kids trailing behind on a day that could make or break their careers. I think that it was a great movie although the end could have been a little better.
Batman! To follow such great actors as Michael Keaton, Batman and Batman Returns, and Val Kilmer, Batman Forever would be an honor and an even greater challenge for any actor. George Clooney has a contract with Warner Brothers to be Batman in three movies. George said, after making the first of the three, Batman & Robin, that he would be happy to make another one, if W.B. wants to make another Batman movie, and if they want him back. (All of the previous actors who played Batman were asked to come back, but they did not want to be type cast as "the caped crusader.")
Coming September 26th (in the US) to a theater near you is a must see action film called Peacemaker starring George Clooney!!
