I decided to go thru the first episode shown on Sci-Fi Channel and compare it to the CBC airing just to see how much difference there might be between them. Here's a summary of what I found.
I didn't time the tease and opening credits, because I didn't see any differences in them.
On SFC, in the scene at the cafe, where they drink to talent, Jules has the last line: One day, talent or no talent, I'm going to earn enough to afford a decent glass of wine.

Longer scene as Jules enters his room and hangs the play poster on his wall.
- - - - -
CBC has more scenes of Rebecca getting into the sewer and wading about.

length of act one: CBC - 7:34 SCIFI - 7:53

Act 2
After Phileas and Passepartout discuss Jules' possible detectors, it cuts to an exterior shot, then back inside.
In the CBC version, Jules is being shoved by Passepartout thru a lab. Passepartout is holding a gun on Jules, and says: Sit down.
Jules sits and says: It's lunacy.
Passepartout: Oh no, Mr. Verne, it's deadly serious. We are all equipped here to build the detectors.
Jules: I can't believe this is happening to me. (angrily) Who the hell is he?!
Passepartout: He is Mr. Phileas Fogg from London, England. Now I am putting gun away. But don't be funny with me.
(this is where SFC version picks up)

There's a few seconds more of Jules setting up the detector.

Act 2 CBC - 12:38; SFC 11:45

Act 3
After the above ground scene showing all the shaking, when it goes back to Jules in the chair, in the CBC version:
She (did anyone catch her name? -- I hate the way the credits get shrunk most of the time) says: Well?
Jules: Well what?
She: Where have you placed the detection devices, Verne?
Jules: Why do you want Queen Victoria?
This is where SFC picks up with her saying "Locations"

CBC has a slightly longer scene at the beginning of the state dinner with Rebecca circling the room before taking up her position.
- - - - -
SFC has a line after "the state dinner has already begun." She continues to Jules: If we succeed tonigh, we will celebrate. You and I."
- - - - -
At the end of the act, after her lines "You lied. You lied to me" It goes on: Rest assured of this, Verne. I will make you regret what you did tonight for what little remains of your miserable life.
Take us down!"

Act 3 time for CBC - 10:17; SFC - 9:44.

Act 4
Just a few seconds of Phileas in the Aurora assembling something before telling Passepartout they are over the site.

Act 4 times: CBC - 10:18 (they take an extra break just about half way thru); SFC - 9:58

The tag and closing credits ran about the same on both. Tag 1:31, closing credits about 40 seconds.
