"Damn, That episode scared the bejesus out of me. Chris Carter finally went back to doing what he does best: scaring us with things that go bump in the night. Obviously, the WHOLE episode didn't scare me, but when in the midst, the guy leaned over and became a dog, THAT freaked me out. And those red eyes, which looked really fake in the hold, scared me also. There's an expression, so stupid its funny, so I guess this is so fake, its scary. It was a good plot, though Mulder has to stop revealing everything to the bad guys (how does he expect to stay alive???). I know that the audience has to figure out the plot someway, but couldn't he tell Scully instead of confronting the bad guy...and then letting him go? The effects were great, the shadow, eyes, and that morph will have me staying away from dogs for a good week or so. I love the darkness. This episode dealt with two different types of darkness. The scenery of course, and the darkness of the human personality. A smart contrast. The scenery was great, all that midst and gloom made me think Dracula and all those other great creepy films of the old. I think the Mulder/Scully relationship is really great at this point in time, they're acting as friends, joking, giving advice, and acting as such. It gives X-Files a more personal feeling. Let's us know that the characters are people also. One little problem, I think it would have been better to have Scully get Mulder another copy of the I Want To Believe Poster, what was Chinga there for anyway? I'm happy the poster is back, but it sort of feels like a let down. That poster represents everything about Mulder, to just give it back to him from some dog gal online is anticlimactic. But I'm not complaining, this was a scary episode. X-Files has never scared me before. I'm thrilled!"

"Here boy, fetch. Fetch! Boy? Aaaaaah! The killer dog episode. It was bound to happen. It seems as if the X-Files is intent on tackling every form of supernatural occurence before its run is through. However, some things just dont work. When your audience has spent nearly six seasons confronting insidious government conspiracies, aliens and unique monsters...Fido just doesn't instill much fear or interest. A dog with flashing red eyes? Surely Chris Carter and crew can inject some more life into their series than this...or at the very least a rabies shot. "

"An hour sprinkled with mundane jokes and a predictable storyline make this episode a mere average X-Files. Yo Quiero Taco Bell? Give me a break, let's not sell out just yet, Mulder. The sexual tension between Mulder and Scully was not integral to the plot which is good and they were able to have a little fun with it. Fortunately, the "wolf/dog/man" was quite the fright and I enjoyed watching it maul hapless fools. I actually enjoyed watching 'Futurama' before it more."

"This was a giant step up from Jeffery Bell's previous effort--'Rain King'--which was an embarassing excuse for an X-Files episode. I enjoyed everynminute. Not too graphic...that is good!"
