Christmas Carol

"With an intriguing storyline involving Scully's despair at being unable to conceive a child and a little girl Scully believes to be her sister Melissa's daughter "Christmas Carol" has just the right pitches and cadences. The production crew must of warmed up their technical vocal chords with some hard work hot choclate to produce a tune that sounds this good. Mulderless, it's up to Anderson to carry the episode and she not only carries it but kicks it around like a hacky sack. Anderson once again delivers a multidimensional, emotionally rich, powerhouse performance. She is simply arresting in this episode. Hypnotic. You can't take your eyes off of her. Her performance in this episode echoes her performance in "Beyond the Sea" which was one of her best. Merry X-mas. Let's just hope it's Santa Claus and not Tooms coming down the chimney."

"Finally! A Scully episode! Scully is definitely not feeling too well-this time not physically but psychologically--and this is because she knows that she will not be able to have children of her own. Her mother is being supportive but Bill Jr.,as always, is an idiot. I really thought that this episode would have Melissa come back from the dead, etc. but the cliffhanger was truly a shocker. And as ALWAYS, more questions arise as they are answered. Who's the father? And WHEN did this happen? Why didn't Scully know about this? And as for Mulder, does anyone know what he was doing in that red cap thing?!? I am really anticipating for Sunday to come around."

"I'm a really strong Mulderist, and seeing him run out for one minute with a red towel on his head didn't fufill my craving, but besides that, it was a lovely episode. Gillian Anderson's performance was excellent. Still, this episode just added things to my list called 'why I hate Scully's smart-ass brother, Bill Jr." Ugh, he's such a jerk! Bill Jr. definetly replaces Mrs. Mulder as the most annoying family member of an agent in the X-Files. The flashbacks in this episode were quite eerie, and gave us more insight into the childhood of Dana Scully. Despite it being a great Scully episode, I missed Mulder!"

"Gillian did really great, I felt so bad for her because she couldn't adopt Emily. I wonder if that police detective guy is going to be a recurring role. There was great acting and a great cliff hanger. However, I like it when both agents are there. In the episode they made two mistakes, Scully's mom said she gave that necklace to her on her 15th birthday ("Ascension") and the second time she went to the murder scene she told the guy she had been addressed by name. She was the first time but not the second. Whoever is writing X-Files these days better pay attention to details."

"After watching the episode "Christmas Carol" I see Gillian Anderson in a whole new light. The emotions that she poured into this story was amazing to watch. To watch her struggle with the rejection of her application to adopt Emily literally broke my heart. Then the shock and amazement of finding out that there is a possibility that Emily could be her child! WOW! This episode was without a doubt an emotional roller coaster. The flashbacks were a bit confusing and a little creepy. But they shed a lot more light on Scully's character."

"It was really a good episode, I really liked it. It is totally shocking for the possiblity of Scully having a child. And her decision of wanting to become a mother is touching. I don't know if it's such a good idea for her to become one, but if the child IS her's, and she wants her, then thats the way it should be. The whole thing was beautifully set. That was a lot of great acting from Gillian, too. But of course Gillian is the BEST actress. The only thing I could think was WHOA! And Mulder's HAT!"

"I loved this episode. It had all the stuff I need for a good episode of The X-Files: deep characters, and that spooky hint of the supernatural. Overall, this was a good episode, and I love how Scully went out on a limb and started believing weird theories just like Mulder. This was a great episode."

"I love this episode. It's one of my favorites to go back and watch. I don't know...it's soothing to me. But why, oh why did they have to make Melissa's voice sound like a Greek god speaking to a mortal from mount Olympus? I just don't understand that. It was fine with her real voice!"
-Anne M.-

"One of the best, if not THE best X-Files episode ever! It starts off making you believe that Scully's sister had a baby but ends up with Dana being the mother! A very emotional episode. Especially the part where Scully confesses to her mother that she can't concieve a child"
-Danny R.-

"Oh God! What an episode! It was very creative, although I could tell that Emily was Scully's daughter. It was predictable but still entertaning! I loved it. So far it's may favorite episode!"
-Ula B.

"Awesome episode! I'm on the edge of my seat awaiting the continuation!"
