"This match of doppelganger fisticuffs misses the punch, making a bruise although no long lasting welt on the face of what has now become an inconsistent television series which mimics the drunken unconnecting swings of a tired prizefighter. In fact there were more bad punches thrown than good one's this season. On the good side of the ring this episode, the manhole swallowing of Mulder and portrayal of the angriest father in the world were both amusing and the lighting in this episode was a plus a usual. On the bad side, the execution of the story was bland and the bruising of Mulder and Scully was highly ridiculous in a bad way. Hopefully the X-Files will be down for the count at the end of this season. Picking up the fight in the cinema."

"This episode knocked me out completely, cured my chronic insomnia. Let the big screen remain on the big screen. I haven't seen Fight Club but I have a feeling it doesn't deal with exact doubles ( I am so tired of the twin/double angle). Annoying guest characters and gratuitous violence...not to mention the extreme ludicrousy of Mulder and Scully getting into a knock-em-down-and-drag-em-out fight."
