Fire

"We learn a lot about Mulder's past, even some things we don't want to know."

-Julie C.-

The episode, "Fire", originally aired on December 17, 1993. That episode of The X-Files was the 11th episode of the first season.

A British peer burns to death in front of his horrified family, and a Scotland Yard inspector. A former girlfriend of Mulder's tracks the killer to the U.S. enlisting Mulder's aid (and rekindling some flames of her own). She seeks an arsonist who seems to be able to light fires at a distance. Although Mulder tries to keep her out of the case, Scully tracks down the clues to the killer's identity as well as some chilling background information. Mulder must confront his own fear of fire as he and Scully track down a devilishly clever killer whose weapon may be pyrokinesis.

"This episode was not one of the greatest moments in X-File history. But it did have some redeeming moments. Don't you thing the looks on Mulder and Scully's faces were priceless as they listened to Phoebe's tape, they got more and more scared until Phoebe finally opened the door. Scully just about wet her pants! Mulder looked drugged after Phoebe kissed him on the cheek in the garage. He had this goofy kind of a smile on his face as he introduced Scully to Phoebe. And Gillian did Scully so well as she just simply said "Hello." Phoebe had it right, "She hates me." The look on Scully's face in the garage was great. She was really mad at Mulder for ignoring her. The same is with when they were dancing and kissing. She was so jealous. I love Jealous!Scully. I think we need to more of her. Oh, and going back to Mulder in boxers! Scully looked really uncomfortable when Mulder got up and started around in them. She kept her back to him for a long time. But Mulder didn't seem to give a damn. Hmm... Scully, are you embarrassed? I loved it when she said in an English accent: "Care to take me to lunch?" and them in her normal voice: "Scare you?" I thought this was very finny! Scully did a very good impression of Pheobe there. But it was kind of mean of her. But it was worth the on Mulder's face! '10 to 1 you can't dance to it.'"

"Fire was a cute episode. We learn a lot about Mulder's past, even some things we don't want to know (about Mulder and Phoebe). I now hate Phoebe Green with a passion. The kiss between her and Mulder wasn't so bad, though, since Mulder is so adorable when he kisses, and you can just see Scully's jealousy...hee hee. If only they hadn't cut this line they were going to have at the end: Scully: "Well, never let it be said that you wouldn't walk through fire for a woman, Mulder." Mulder: "And never let it be said that I wouldn't do it for you again, Scully." Last but not least, I love those black silk boxers! "

"Crackeling special effects. Mark Sheppard is on fire as Cecil L'ively and the flames of jealousy are burning in Scully but this episode is blown out by the winds of my cruel indifference."
