Below, are a few quotes from the episode and the ratings submitted by XFEOS members. They are followed with the comments and opinions on "Mind's Eye".

Mulder: Looking at the slide of the murdered Paco Ordonez "I have the same pair of pants."

Mulder: "So what, you think she caught Little Monster trying to snach the pebble from her hand?"
Det. Pennock: "Nothin else makes sense."
Mulder: "Including how a blind girl could get the drop on an ex-con and bleed him out with surgical precision."

Marty Glenn to Pennock: "Oh, it's you."
Pennock to M & S: "See what I mean?"
Marty: "It's not magic. It's your crappy cologne. Who's that with you?"
Mulder: "Special Agent Mulder."
Marty: "And the lady?"
Scully: "Uh, Special Agent Scully. We'd like to ask you some questions, Marty."
Marty: "You must be having trouble with your case, detective." To Mulder: "What are you staring at?"
Mulder: "An innocent woman. I hope."

Scully: "What were you doing [at the motel room], Marty?"
Marty: "Putting mints on the pillows." ...
Scully: "It would put you at the murder scene right about the time of death."
Marty: "Is that a crime?"
Scully: "If you were involved in any way."
Mulder & Marty
Marty: "You mean, like an eyewitness."

Mulder: "I'm curious about something, Marty."
Marty: "Yeah, about what?"
Mulder: "If you didn't kill him, why you were at the crime sceen cleaning up and doing such a piss-poor job of it? Why don't we just stop playing games here. Ok? I mean, you probally don't know a feather duster from a duck's ass, do you? It's ridiculous. You're a blind woman for god's sake. So why don't you just tell us who did kill Paco Ordonez and Agent Scully and I can go arrest him and you can go home and work on your angry-young-blind-girl comedy routine."

Marty: Holding evidence bag with the gloves in it "Let me guess. Your killer is O.J. Simpson."

Pennock: "Looks to me like [the glove] fits."
Marty: "Somewhere Marcia Clark weeps."

Mulder to Scully: "Even if the gloves fit, you can still acquit."

Mulder: "I like you, Marty...I admire you."

Pennock: "You know, the thing I find most surprising about this case is you. You're one skeptical guy."
Mulder: "Skeptical?"
Pennock: "Oh yeah."
Mulder: "I've been called a lot of things. Skeptical, however, is not one."

Mulder: "I think that during that time, as you lost one sense, you gained another. That somehow a connection was formed between you and your mother's killer."
Marty: "What connection?"
Mulder: "You see through his eyes. You always have. You don't want to. You just do, and because of that you feel responsible for his actions, but you're not."

"At first, after seeing the previews for Mind's Eye, I was positive that it was really going to be bad. I was just like "Yay, a blind girl, lets move on." First of all, I'd like to say that I was wrong. This wasn't another Teso Dos Bichos, Ghost in the Machine, or El Mundo Gira. It wasn't one of the best X-Files ever, but it was decent, and had its moments. A big plus: Lili Taylor. Now THAT is an actress. She had me in awe of her the whole time. Her acting was phenomenal, and it was obvious that she carried the show. If anything, I would have loved her character, Marty, to be a recurring role. Not as a love interest for Mulder *see below* but just as another character. She was very strong willed, and, in some way, reminded me of Samantha. Anyway, am I the only thinking "Yes, I understand Duchovny and Anderson are icy towards each other now, but you need to have them working TOGETHER!" Come on, people! This was pathetic. Most of the 5th season has proven that you can't have one without the other. Anderson, despite her amazing acting ability and strong lovliness, NEEDS Mulder, and Duchovny, with his lately...not so good acting...NEEDS Scully. I'm sorry, Mr. Duchovny, but either begin ACTING again or get off the X-Files set. That's all I need to say on that. Again, I really don't mean to say these things, but they're my opinion. Believe me, I love Mulder's character. He's the one I identify with, but that's all the more reason to scrutinize David Duchovny's acting, is it not?Sorry, where was I? Oh, I was supposed to be talking about Mind's Eye. Hee hee :-) Anyway, another reason I was glad Lili Taylor was there was that she seemed to really push Duchovny along. He ACTED! I was so impressed! She portrayed Marty with such strength that it caught all of us by surprise, including Duchovny because it looked like he was pushing himself more than usual to match her acting, and that really benefitted the show. Also, this episode had beautiful cinematography *excuse my spelling, I'm tired!* and directing. Now, the writing...hmm...some of the dialouge was right on, such as Marty's powerful line "I don't like the way you look at me" which could have had multiple meanings, and Mulder's little "I think I have those pants" line at the beginning, but then there were times, like the little ice capades thing at the end of the episode, which just made me cringe. Speaking of the end, did anyone else thing Mulder and Marty were going to kiss through the bars. Luckily that wasn't true. It wouldn't have worked, in my opinion, though I know my friend is busy writing a Mulder/Marty fanfic as I type this *sigh* Well, I gave this episode an eight because even though some of the dialouge stunk, it wasn't a scary X-File, and Scully wasn't really in it, I had to give it extra points because of Lili Taylor's magnificant performance and Mark Snow's breathtaking music. Well, All Souls looks really good. I can't wait for that one!"

"Wow, watch out for blind girls with guns. Brings a new meaning to the phrase "keep your eyes open" or would that be your mind's eye? Great plot, really original, and I sort of figured she was conected somehow to the killer, though I was expecting a long lost twin or something. The actress they chose did a great job acting like she had a bone to pick with everyone and a bunch of pride. She must have been wearing humongus contacts. She didn't do that great acting blind though, I mean obviously she could see through the killers eyes, but it still could have been pulled off better. I wish Scully was in that episode more, though its a good one to bring out Mulder's obsessions with lost causes and victims of circumstance. "

"This episode is blind to the fact that after such an all seeing season it's clairvoynce simply translates into annoyance. When asked whether this episode is only average, I say it stands out and the lie detector needle does it's jig."
-Michael B.-

"I really didn't like this episode. It was ok for a stand- alone, but there have been better. "
-Ula B.-

"Good episode."
