"While the plot of 'Monday' in and of itself was not totally original, it contained a twist that made it ultimately X-Files. This episode reminds me of 'Tithonus' in a way because it offered up no real explanation of why events took place. We don't really know why this time loop happened. We only know that it wasn't supposed to happen. I thought the added plot twist about the variable that didn't belong was interesting, though slightly predictable. The character of Pam was actually believable. Her mild acceptance of the events happening around her made it really seem like she thought nothing could be changed. It also effectively conveyed the hopelessness that she was feeling over this event. Some of the lines she recited sounded so vague and hopeless that it was almost like we were experiencing this time loop with her. Her conviction that this was Hell (complete with hand shaking no less) was strongly delivered. She had a noble, if somewhat contrived death. I thought Scully's performance with a shot Mulder was great, if she had over reacted then it wouldn't have been convincing. And Mulder's little beginning scenes were cute (and I'm glad that damn water bed is no more!). It's interesting to see an X-File when it isn't focused around Mulder and Scully. They were really just characters to another's person's story this time around. It was an interesting way to see them. I guess life doesn't revolve around them, and I suppose they aren't the interchangeable and all important variable in every plot. Variables can change, they're the constant. Always and forever searching for the truth, that's the sort of time loop I could live in."

"Ever see Groundhog Day? Well, "Monday" was an X-Files recreation of the Bill
Murray movie...a man trapped in one day, doomed to repeat it until he does
what's right. Except with no Murray humor. Didn't Star Trek the Next
Generation do this episode as well? What I want to know is who is the guy
that deems the behavior of the trapee acceptable? Anyway, I'm glad that they
were able to show the same scene many times without having me bored to
death. Yet, it hardly kept me from turning away to my homework. If I was
her, I'd look for outcomes of sports events and start putting down some
serious bets! I notice right now that I have no good quotes from the show
like what we've seen more recently. And the humor was not present. This
tasted like a 4th season episode. I loved the explosion, obviously, Carter
has some money to work with which makes me breath a sigh of relief since
ratings have fallen over the past year. I also can't wait for more mythology
stuff."

"The only thing worse than reliving the same day over and over would be to watch this episode again and again. This episode is "Groundhog Day" with a hangover. Anderson was as excellent as always. I loved her facial reactions when she was told of her and Mulder's fate. There really was nothing else here, especially story wise. This could have been one of those scripts that seemed like it had potential, but really turned out to be nothing much at all. The scripts need to be more experimental and cutting edge for me to retain my interest at this late stage of the shows run, or they will only seem déjà vu."

"Mulder and Scully certainly learned a whole new reason to hate Mondays
with a capital 'H'!"

"Great episode! And funny!"
