Paper Hearts

Mulder: "Sixteen victims, John. how come you said there were only thirteen?"
Roche: "I don't know. Thirteen sounds more magical."

Roche: "How about this? Sink one from there and I'll tell you." Mulder shoots and make it in. "You trust a child molester?

Scully: "He is playing with you, Mulder. He is committing emotional blackmail and you are letting him. You walked into that room with your heart on your sleeve. He saw valnerability and he took advantage of it. You had a dream, a nightmare, but you had it because of all the emotions this case is stirring up for you. It was nothing but a dream."
Mulder: "My last dream came true. scully, do you believe that my sister, Samantha, was abducted by aliens?" Scully sighs "Have you ever believed that?" She looks down "No. so what do you think happened to her."
Scully: "What are you saying you believe now?"
Mulder: "I don't know. I don't know what happened. I don't know what to believe. I just know that I have to find out now."

Mulder: "Sir, I've been denied further access to John Lee Roche. I'm told that order comes down from you."
Skinner: "Could you tell me why you saw it fit to strike a prisoner in federal custody?" Mulder looks over at Scully "Agent Scully didn't report that to me, Mulder, though she should have. The whole thing was videotaped as per prison policy. I saw it. You're lucky I don't have your ass in a sling. You've gotten too close to this, Mulder, you've let this man get to you."
Mulder: "I have reason to believe he can tell us what happened to my sister, Samantha."
Scully: "It is looking possible, sir."

Roche to Mulder: "I can't just tell you [where Samantha is]. I mean, I know you don't believe me. You need me to show you. You need me to lead you through because after all these years, anything less than that is not going to satisfy you, right?"

Roche to Mulder: "More than [getting out of prison], I can't wait to see your face."
Scully: "You're going to see the inside of your cell instead and you are going to rot there."

Scully: "Sir, I have a clear idea of where he might have gone and I'm sure that I can catch up with him."
Skinner: "I'll be the one to catch up with him. Where's he headed?"
Scully: "Martha's Vineyard. I would hope that you can appreciate the uniqueness of this situation and its effects on Agent Mulder."
Skinner: "I fully understand the effect it has on him, Agent Scully. As I recall that was the sum and total of my last words to you on this subject. You let me down. Let's clean up this mess before it gets completely out of hand."

Mulder to Roche: "Somehow you got inside my dreams. I profiled you. I got inside your head, maybe you got inside mine. Maybe a connection was formed between us and through that you got access to my memories about my sister, Samantha, and you used them against me."

Roche: "I heard things about you, Mulder. You know what I heard? I heard you go after aliens from space. It's like your world will be okay as long as you can believe in flying saucers."
