Post-Modern Prometheus

"Post-Modern Prometheus" fullfilled one of Chris Carter's dreams--to film an episode completely in black and white. This episode was also filmed using a wide-angle lens and contained brilliantly added music by Mark Snow. All of these features combined, succeeded in making the episode appear as if it were a comic book. In the episode, Mulder and Scully investigate a monster, called 'The Great Mutato,' who impregnates a local woman. This episode was so great and out of this world, that I can't even explain the rest of it. Needless to say, the story ends happily ever after. Very happily, indeed. The memorable last scene leaves Scully and Mulder dancing, looking into each other's eyes, and smiling ear-to-ear.

Note: The picture below of Scully and Mulder kissing at the Cher concert was not in the episode. That was just one of the takes that did not make it to the final product.

Mulder: "Good nite, Dr. Frankinstein."

Berkowitz: "Izzy Berkowitz, get your butt front and center!"

Mulder: "Do you own a tape recorder, Izzy?"
Izzy: "Ummm..."
Berkowitz: "Christmas 1993!!"

Mulder: "Scully, the other victims, they had their frying pans violated ."

Mulder: Finds an empty jar of peanut butter "I think we found our smoking gun."

Mulder: Waitress pours coffee on his lap "That's not a place you want to burn a guy."

Mailman: "I intercepted a package."
Berkowitz: "How would you like your head to intercept my fist, coconut head!?!"

The Great Mutato: "What we did was wrong, but in our trespasses, we gave you a loving son, and in your home I went places I never dreamed of. With your books, your records, and home media centers I learned of the world, of a mother's love that I will never know. Cher loved that boy so much."
