"The table turns on Skinner as he is kicked in his chiefy gut by a shoe which just so happens to be occupied by a female foot. ...and go get your own coffee!!! You don't see the manly F.B.I. boss guy get his butt handed to him by a woman very often on t.v. Of course, the character of Scully is a t.v. rarity herself, thank Chris Carter for this and cherish her. The woman beats the male power figure here, however, under the complete control of a man. Which leads one to believe that the Skinner beating is less about portraying character traits in a new light than it is about exploring the sexual connotations of power. There's an underlying sexual/control thing going on in this episode, but then again it's the X-Files willingness to keep a loosely fastened lid on sexual tensions and letting them slowly -SSSS(MULDER)- smolder that gives each X-File folder it's sharp edge. Watch for paper cuts. It's interesting to see Scully and Mulder's intense bond violated in the finale and the twisting power that is released by it's manipulation to an outsiders will. The look of overwhelming dread on Acting Mistress Extraordinairre Anderson's face as Mulder points the gun at Scully is priceless. I am forced to submit my will, stand by and watch helplessly as this episode is pushed to a rating of nine."

"Finally, one of my rare tens. This one deserved it though. I loved the acting all around. Not only did David and Gillian outdo themselves, but the guy who played Modell was amazing also. I loved the last scene, when Mulder was trying so hard to resist Modell and get Scully out of there. I know the shippers love this episode because Mulder and Scully hold hands. But I hope that they will get through their heads sometime soon, that Mulder and Scully are fully devoted to each other in a relationship deeper then a marriage or an affair or something equally detremental to the show. They have a relationship built on trust, loyalty, and a sort of brother/sister love. I think this episode redefines that for me. Can't wait till next week!!! Another thing I love about X-Files in the fact that they use the same people to bring back characters, they don't try to confuse us with new faces. I hope Kitsunegari gets a 10 to match up with Pusher."

"I loved this episode the first time I saw it back in season three, and it is still as powerful to me today as it was a year and a half ago. That's the true test of an episode. The most outstanding thing about the episode is the Mulder/Scully dynamic. They express their friendship, concern, and love (no one can tell me after watching this that there wasn't some form of love!) for each other in very simple ways - a touch of the hand, a tear, a whispered name. They get through it, and they come out stronger and closer for it. Modell is easily one of the scariest villians ever on the show. If he has the ability to turn one partner against another, what else can he do? Modell is a truly frightening criminal, one who can crawl under your skin and give you a chill. This is an extraordinary episode, still one of my favorites. I think four words can sum up my feelings about "Pusher" - All Hail Vince Gilligan."

"I would never dream of giving Pusher anything other than a 10. The guy who played Modell did an excellent job of portraying the hardships, both of controlling a mind and facing your own death. Also, I congradulate Duchovny and Anderson once again. Duchovny did a wonderful job acting out the stress and pain that Mulder would have endured while under Modell's control. Vince Gilligan's writing job was phenominal, and it is easily noticed why this, along with Paper Hearts and Small Potatoes, helped to make him one of the best X-Files writers along with Morgan and Wong and Darin Morgan. Overall, this episode deserved a 10 for being well written and acted. Modell was a character that never left our minds, and obviously never left the X-Files crew's minds, since next week's episode, Kitsunegari, will bring him back."

"'Pusher' is a classic X-File. I really liked this episode-great acting by all. I like how the X-Files title their episodes often with simply the name of the antagonist or main focus character-this time "Pusher"- and also how they once in a while connect new episodes and the characters with an old episodes. The scene in the hospital room where the three of them play Russian Roulette is so tense-everytime I watch it I get surprised. Mulder and Scully definitely had some conflicts with their ideas and theories but it worked out at the end...or did it? We'll find out next week."

"This is a really good episode. It's one of my favorites. I love the color cerilian blue. Scully couldn't stand the thought of Mulder killing himself (mind controlled or not). So of course she just HAD to save him. When she was in that room, standing there watching her beloved partner put himself at risk of death, it broke her to pieces. But when he turned the gun on her, she had to think of something and quick! She distracts "Pusher" and Mulder shoots him. What a tense exiting few minutes."
