A young woman named Lauren Kyte seems to be under the protection of a ghostly force. Mulder and Scully investigate and learn that Lauren's employer, Howard Graves, who was like a father to her, supposedly committed suicide. In actuality, the man was murdered by his buisness partner and is reaching out from beyond the grave to make sure that justice is served.

"I didn't like this one. Sure it had some great parts, like the Statue of Liberty, having Tom Braidwood's name as the one taking over Howard Graves' parking space, and 'I would never lie. I merely participated in a campaign of misinformation.' Still, this episode didn't appeal to me. The whole thing about Howard Graves' death was too rushed, and the episode overall was sloppy. I gave it a seven for some great dialogue, but an overall boring episode."
