Space
"This is a rare failure in a show known for consistant high quality."
-Michael B.-
The episode, "Space", originally aired on November 12, 1993. That episode of The X-Files was the eighth episode of season one.
Lt. Col. Marcus
Aurelius Belt is a former astronaut and now Mission Director for NASA. On
his last space walk, he encountered a ghostly presence, one
that has haunted him ever since. When sabotage strands a shuttle in
outer space with an oxygen leak, Mulder and Scully are asked to discover
the saboteur in time to save the crew. But their efforts are hampered by
a mysterious force that seems bent on re-creating the events of Col.
Belt's earlier mission -- and keeping humans out of space permanently.
Col. Belt collapses, leaving Mulder and Scully to convince the ground
crew that their rescue efforts may endanger the shuttle. Only a bold move can bring the crew home alive -- if Mulder can convince
Mission Control to change its approach program.

"Ha. Ha. Ha. Very funny Chris...now where's the real episode. Chris?..Will?..David?..Gillian? Where is everyone? There's the space shuttle. It looks like the news is on. The episode must be over. This is a rare failure in a show known for consistant high quality. "Space", the "Plan Nine From Outer Space" of X-Files episodes, with all it's use of stock footage, would make Ed Wood proud."
