"Have you noticed that whenever there is a person with extraordinary powers, like in this episode, the individual is a redneck? That may follow suit with the idea that a better episode has a good villain, and we know from watching Jerry Springer that rednecks exhibit the antisocial behavior that can be capitalized upon by fantastic powers granted to them. I missed the humor reminiscent of previous 6th season episodes. I'm thinking that there must have been some extremely quick chemical reactions to transform those bullets into that brittle charcoal-like substance. Can he totally control it? It would suck for him if he found his son and then burned him. And it's unfortunate that he's gotta get naked to pass through things (without ruining his clothes). He'd make a lame superhero, always fighting crime naked and all."

"The science! Oh the science of it all! I loved it! This episode was reminiscent of some of the second and third season episodes. Mulder and Scully were at their intellectual best. Once again we see how science can carry both Mulder and Scully's view...amazing that they still see things differently, but its quite enduring to the viewer. I thought the whole "maybe he/she wanted another chance" was great, again, an X-File that focuses around a moral issue, made more interesting with a dash of science. Killing him with the car wind shield was really creative. I can't say I'm sorry to see him go, but he wasn't all that different from his wife. The acting all around was, maybe not touching, but in certain aspects, poignant. It's one of those episodes that make you think. It made me think anyway. Kudos all around!"

"This fun episode has great use of lighting, shadow and color with Anderson conveying the powerful persona she has developed with her character Scully. Duchovny has his characters cool sudued intelligence running through his blood now that the show has been around many seasons. His character is more charismatic now, through a combination of great acting and writing. This episode also has some really creepy scenes with people being cut in two and having their faces crumbeled away. I just believe that the show needs to push itself harder than usual to be original now that it's nearing it's last season. It needs to be even more experimental and push itself through the wall of redundancy in order to remain vital."

"A great, scientifically correct episode. A great way to redeem season six!"
