X-Cops

"Felicity crossed into ...the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, that lies between the pit of man's fears, and the summit of his knowledge for a Twilight Zone crossover that made for an interesting episode of that series now the X-Files crosses over into bad boys whatcha gonna do territory for a Cops crossover. The Felicity episode was an exact duplication of the Twilight Zone style and the X-Files episode is an exact duplication of Cops style. What happens in crossing over into Cops territory for the X-Files, however, is that the character traits of Mulder and Scully truly come alive. There is more of an effect on the actual characters and how they are perceived than there was in the Felicity episode where the creators of that show created a hallucinogenic quality. When Mulder is taken out of the traditional X-Files setting, with all of the cool lighting and cinematography and placed out in the reality based world of Cops, his belief in things supernatural seems much more insane and therefore more interesting than ever. It is a funny and quite charming thing to see Mulder recite his routine monster hunting lines in the real world. When bounced off of Scully we can see the interaction of Mulder and Scully in a more humorous, intriguing and real way. Experimentation not regurgitation will be the X-Files salvation."

"Stop with the gimmicks already! Cute idea, not bad, but not great, which is the downfall of season seven. This whole season has been a series of mediocre episodes that don't even come close to the glory of the 6th season. I know subject matter is hard to come by, but still. Taking on of Fox's trashiest shows and making a crossover? And after what Fox did to Chris Carter with Millennium and Harsh Realms? Season seven needs a pick up to end the show with any kind of dignity."

"I really enjoyed "X-Cops." While I hate the show "Cops", this use of the format was to me very entertaining, funny, and real to life. Or at least it appeared more real, because of the way it was done, and the cameras. I laughed pretty hard at times. I haven't laughed much at the X-Files for a while now, too. Scully reacted exactly the way I would have imagined. And the autopsy thing was hilarious. It was very good."

"I thought this episode was very funny. Seeing it in the context of COPS, made Scully and Mulder look very foolish. It was funny to see them smurk as they were saying their lines. Looks like they had a lot of fun filming this one. I guess they weren't to serious about this episode. The other episodes were dark and mysterous and serious. Unexpected funny and lighthearted."
