Taking The Plunge
by Liza Finlay
Kathleen Robertson is in the market for a new zip code. As her last season
on Beverly Hills, 90210 draws to a close, the Hamilton native, 23, is looking
at other properties—feature films. She made her big-screen debut at age
12 in the National Film Board of Canada's Left Out and went on to spend
her adolescence starring in the Canadian children's television show, Maniac
Mansion. She graduated into prime time when, while attending the screening
of one of her telefilms in L.A., she auditioned for and landed the role
of the sassy and cerebral Claire Arnold in Mr. Spelling's neighbourhood.
This summer sees the release of Nowhere, with Christina Applegate and Debi
Mazar, and Robertson in the lead as Lucifer, "an overbearing and possessive
lesbian with purple hair." Talk about trading places.
