Dylan Thomas is right up there at the top of the list. Also, I recommend Seamus Heaney, the great Irish poet, to anyone with a love of our language. All of his poetry is high in my heart. Steinbeck, Chekhov--their writings are wonderful reading as well as wonderful theater. As the father of four, how do you manage to juggle time with your children and your busy acting schedule? Do you find it easier to manage with film or television? It was easier with TV, because the geography was more predictable. You knew you would see them at breakfast or dinner, that you would be on the same continent. The good part about moviemaking is that, occasionally, you get a break of a few months, and you can really be a full-time dad. I just read that Justin Hayward and the other Moody Blues were thrilled when you came backstage to meet them at the Hollywood Bowl. Are you a fan? Yes, I'm certainly a Moody Blues fan...and a Van Morrison fan, and a Bruce Springsteen fan, and a Leonard Cohen fan and a great many more. What are your favorite foods? Almost anything Japanese, but certainly sushi above all. To the top |
