Eugene Onegin is an aristocrat during
the Empire period in St. Petersburg. Although rather handsome, he is a
man often lacking in basic human compassion. He is introduced to a young
woman named Tatiana by Lensky, his best friend. Tatiana's emotions are
completely opposite that of Eugene-she is passionate and pure. However,
she soon falls hopelessly in love with Eugene and eventually proclaims
her love for him to him. His rejection of her leads to a tragic and encumbering
love. --hsx.com
