Personally I think Kate Winslet is the soul of Rose. What other
actress besides Kate after having read the treatment, was brought to
tears and decided then and there that she had to have the part? Or
during the filming after having done an emotional scene, cried for an
hour afterwards? Kate was feeling the magic of the film and gave
every last bit of talent she had to share that feeling with the
audience. Her performance as Rose has endeared the character to
millions. She does such a remarkable job that you have to remind
yourself that's Kate acting up there not Rose Dewitt-Bukater making a
cameo appearance in the movie. Every scene that Kate is in reveals
another side of Rose's personality. During the course of the movie she
takes Rose from a snobbish little rich girl to a warm and loving
person willing to give up everything she owns including her own life.
Rose may have originally existed in Cameron's imagination, but Kate
gave the character life and that life continues through several fan
fiction stories that have been written. Why is Rose so appealing to
people like this? Because Kate played the character so convincingly
that you just can't help falling in love with her. Rose may not have
been Kate's best acting but it is her most compelling. In my opinion,
Rose is the showcase of Kate's talent. "You don't understand I am
Rose!" (Kate Winslet to James Cameron )

I would have given the world to have Kate as a role model when I was young and impressionable -- I think it might have changed some things in my life. For the first time in my life, I feel attractive no matter what size I am.

Truly, one of the few young actresses i respect and admire. at such a tender age of 22, she is poised, articulate, and eloquent. she is a very talented actress that the films she'd done in her short career, have been first rate, all with critical acclaims as well as rave reviews. I can honestly say, she is a GENUINE ACTOR. I rank her with the likes of Jodie Foster.

Kate WAS Rose. Everything about her performance, from the smallest nuances and facial expressions to her more emotional scenes, was Oscar worthy. She incomparably portrayed Rose's transformation, and her radiant beauty and warmth were mesmerizing. Would Titanic be as emotionally touching had someone else played role? Not in my eyes.

Kate Winslet is an extrodinary actress. I loved Sense and Sensability. Also I really applaud her for her response about her weight. She looks like a HEALTHY person, not one of these anorexic models we see everywhere. It's nice to see such beauty and talent in a realistic looking person.

I feel that Kate Winslet's brilliance as an actress exceeds our
interpretations of her. She is resplendent as Ophelia in "Hamlet", and equally as superb in "Heavenly Creatures". Kate Winslet is winsome!!

Kate is incredibly gorgeous. The first scene that she is shown in, when she turns her head towards the camera and she is wearing that hat, MY GOD!!

Kate has already stated MANY TIMES that ya' can't squander your life obsessing over what other people think of you! She does't care! And that is commendable. I admire Kate so much for her whole life-is-too-short-so-I'm-gonna-do-it-my-way perspective. Another reason I find her so irresistable is because she IS a real woman and not some surgically-enhanced stick. It seems to me that her weight fluctuates, but whose doesn't. She still has an inner quality that is the most beautiful thing I've seen in years.
