Elinor falls in love with the dashing Mr. Ferrars, but hides her feelings, because of Edward’s family wanting him to have a proper marriage to a proper girl. Marianne tries to convince Elinor to confide in her about her feelings for Edward, by Elinor refuses. So the Dashwood girls and their mother move to Sussex to a cottage that belongs to Sir John Middleton. The girls are whole-heartedly welcomed by Mrs. Jennings, a old gossip. Mrs. Jennings realizes that Elinor has a secret and tries to figure out the mystery behind the mysterious "Mr. F". Meanwhile Marianne falls and hurts her ankle and is found by Mr. Willoughby. Marianne falls in love with the dashing young man, while Colonel Brandon (Alan Rickman), a friend of the family falls for the beautiful and audacious Marianne. Emma Thompson's adaptation of this classic drama adds a bit of humor, romance, and drama.

Ophelia

Kenneth Branagh’s adaptation of the classic Shakespearean tragedy finds Kate playing the beautiful and tortured Ophelia. Ophelia has a hidden affair with Hamlet who has become consumed by the sorrow he feels over the loss of his father, who was murdered by Hamlet’s uncle. This sorrow drives Hamlet to madness and rage. In his rage Hamlet kills Ophelia's father, which drives Ophelia to her death. Kate holds her own in the part of Ophelia, bringing out the strengths and virtues of her character.




Titanic
