CHAPTER ONE - SCHOOLING LIFE

"Arghh as if, I am not going to ba able to put up with another three hours of school I am so tired...." "April pack up the stuff at the back of the classroom NOW!" "I didn't do it, thats not fair, it wasn't me, OI'm going to get them next period!" Amrit rolled her eyes as April phaffed around yelling and screaming and being her usual psycho self. Amrit picked up the funnel, where does that go? Hmmm....oh up there....no wait, how about I just leave it and put these awful dirty test tubes away instead. "Mrs. Gamble how on Earth do we clean these test tubes?" Mrs Gamble took hold of the three totally wrecked test tubes, totally covered in melted sulphur. Amrit looked at the gicky mess and shuddered she wasn't about to clwan THAT off. Where were Mel and Jen when she needed them, they had uped and left leaving Amrit to clean up the mess with a pyscho April. April had now left too and Amrit was the only one left cleaning away the dirty mess and wiping over benches as the break rapidally slipped past much to her annoyance. The year twelves walked in talking loudly and laughing at Amrit left on her own cleaning up. Amrit shot them an annoyed look then hurried around picking up the last beaker and bunsen. She still had the filter paper and funnel to put away. She had no idea even after five years where they went. Scott walked in followed by Ritchie and two of his other mates. The bell rang and Amrit was still looking aimlessly around the lab. "Hurry up Amrit dearie!" Kerry, Amrit's year twelve peer support leader called out laughing with her friends. Scott noticing Amrit's anguish walked over to her taking the funnel and filter paper he placed them in their right places much to Amrit's embarassment and also relief. "thanks Scott!" Amrit said blushing slightly then Ritchie took the bunsen and beaker and placed them in the draws and the rack and smiled at her too. They wre so nice and gentlemanly Amrit thought running into the Physics lab as Mr. Pratt closed the door. Gordon had saved a seat for her next to him and Puny was on her other side. Phew she didn't have to sit next to someone else, Miss Annoying, not mentioning any names. Amrit pulled out her Physics notes and half of them fell on the floor. "so much for being organised! Miss Ditz has managed to wreck everything yet again. Anyone bring a calculator today, Puny?" "Yeah I have my ancient one!" Puny exclaimed excitedly. They always had to manage working things out in their heads usually. "My brain is tooooo tired to work anything out today guys!" Amrit said frowning and picking up the remainder of her dropped papers. Gordon and Puny exchanged laughing looks and Amrit phaffed around trying to find her problems sheet. "You call the girl on the bus Barbie!" Gordon said in between laughing. "Shut up!" Amrit declared and folded her arms in annoyance as she had yet again lost her most recent sheets.

Loz walked up the empty corridor towards the common room. She had a SRC meeting and was already late, unlike her but so like her best mate who had made her late. "Amrit hurry up, what have you lost this time?!" Amrit frowned and stamped her feet. "My silly idiotic bus pass!" "Is this it Amrit?!" Came a familiar voice from behind the girls. Scott and Ritchie stood holding a gray plastic covered bus and train pass holder with a picture of BSB wedged into it. Amrit cringed when Tracy and Lila picked it up off Scott and laughed at the picture inside. Loz gave them an evil look and grabbed the passes for Amrit. As if Tracy and Lil had great taste - Marylin Manson was nothing more than garbage and that was an insult to garbage.

"Mummy!!!! Mummy!!!! I need a lift!!!! To Johnny Rockets!!!!" Amrit called up the stairs her voice blending in with the loud buzzing of the hoover. Amrit rolled her eyes again, she was never going to make it in time, she'd be late as usual, she'd miss Scott on his shift. Bummer! Why couldn't the hoovering wait?

"Late as usual, well shes missed him!" "As if she has a chance anyway!" Kat added to Loz's comment. Loz was angry inside and felt like throttling Kat, she could be so cutting sometimes. Then Loz spotted Damien and Justin, hmm she thought, now they were hot and who were the two new guys standing with them? Kat looked the opposite way spotting Ken and Larry. Now they were what she considered cuties. Gordon stood next to them feeling completely out of place waiting for Ryan and Steve to arrive. "Hey Gordo, hows it going today piggy, where are you friends Ryan babe and whatshisname?" Ken and Luke called out meanly and harshly. Amrit rushed into the packed shopping centre and heard the comment. Gordon began to steam but he wasn't going to fight with them it wasn't worth it. Scott also heard as he came out of Johnny Rockets as he was heading home after a long and very tiring late shift. Amrit stormed over the them two indignant boys. "Well aren't you going to say something Pig....gy....Amrit what do YOU want?" Ken said slyly smiling a mean and sneaky grin. Amrit didn't smile, she stood infront of them, hand on her hips. "shut up Losers you are just total idiots. Its good that we have mirrors or I think you might explode with glory for yourselves!" Ken burst out laughing. Everyone in the shopping centre around them had stopped and were looking at the commotion happening infront of the cinemas. "Ooh MIssy Ditzy is getting angry, sorry babe!" Larry said grinning too in the meanest way possible, "Do you know this girl used to be mine, she was such a bore though I dumped her, she doesn't have one idea in how to have fun." "I'd rather be a bore than a complete loser like you, besides I never belonged to you and I dumped....hey wait why am I getting involved ina stupid conversation with YOU?!" "This girl believes in multiple dating at once, she'll go out with anyone just like her friend over there Lozzy, they are so completely unwanted they have to beg for a date and same with that girl Kat and Kel, they are all over us!" That was it Gordon and Scott stormed forward and got ready to punch the boys. Amrit did it before anybody else could manage it. She punchyed Larry in the stomach and Keaves came up from behing giving Ken a huge punch. Keaves was very strong too. Amrit smiled at Keaves as they revelled in their accomplishment in getting those losers back for all their meaness. The Amrit looked up and viewed Scott standing by her side. Her heart started racing but then he turned away and called out to Maggie. "Bye girlies, good job!" He yelled behind him giving them a quick dashing smile. Amrit looked back atb her friends in disappointment. Loz rushed to her side. "are you okay Amrit?" Amrit nodded putting on a happy face. "Great!! Time for dinner girlies oh and guys!!"

"You know what I can' believe, i can't believe I ever liked that guy." Loz looked at Amrit and said resolutely, "Hes not worth it, hes a loser idiot!" Amrit and Loz chattered on about their holidays and music. "Amrit?!" Mrs. Hayton called out beckoning Amrit to hewr office. "Yes Miss, anything I can do?" "There is a new girl, she doesn't seem to be fitting in too well, totally unhappy, dejected, can you help me out?" "SURE!!" Amrit put her arm around Cathy, "We'll show you all there is to this school!!" Loz nodded and they all linked arms smiling happily. "Hi Girls!!" Maggie called out, Amrit tried to ignore but Maggie persisted annoyingly. "So guess what girls?" She said smugly to them, "I got Scott Robinson!!" Amrit smiled trying to look pleased for her gloating kind of friend. Loz didn't smile, she couldn't believe this girl. She knew that Amrit liked Scott, everyone knew that, well all their friends and so called friends. "So as if we care!" Loz said coldy, "So this is out gym, we're so into gym right now!" "Thats Sam and Rachie, they're in our group, they're great mates and the best at gym!" Amrit added friendlily. Loz nodded and the both smiled cheekily and nodded in unison. Maggie sighed at their immaturity and walked off flicking her fake golden blonde locks behind her. Her hair was really a mousy brown but she had put enough bleach in it to make it almost white. Cathy didn't seem impressed by her attitude and she hadn't even bothered to say hi to her. "Do you like gym Cathy? Can we call you Cath?" Loz asked looking at Cathy interestedly. Cathy nodded and smiled, she felt a lot better with these people they were nice and kind. "Oh and thats Gordon, hes our coolies friend! Hey Gord! Gord?!" Amrit called after her second best mate. Cathy stared over at a lad sitting under the shade of a maple tree. Boy was he cute! "Hi Amrit, Loz and um...." Gordon looked embarrassed, this girl had been at the shchool for two weeks and yet he didn't know her name yet. "Cath! Gordon!" Amrit cried out happily.

"How was school Am?" Kiran asked looking up from her law notes. "Great, well okies, we have this coolies new girl and shes so nice and wi-ed!" Kiran rolled her eyes, "Whats with the ies on the end of words?" "Kiran! Get with the times!" Amrit laughed running to get the phone. "Hello, Loz, hi, I know doesn't she just so annoy you, walk, now, yes, okies I mean okay," Amrit said looking at Kiran, "Bye bye!" "I'll be back in an hour, by six!!" Amrit said chucking on her Keavy shoes, electric blue, white and silver trainers and rushing out of the door. "I'll expect you at eight, no later Amrit or Mum'll get annoyed!" It was no use Amrit was out of the door and in the park running along to Loz's to catch up on all the friday afternoon gossip session.

"She what?! Oh my gosh, she didn't, Ritchie must be gutted!" Amrit said looking genuinely sad for Ritchie, he was so nice! "Yeah she did, she is so mean, I mean gosh hes nice, anyway Ryan and I are going on the date, see I told you first Amrit!" "Its Pearly Princess! I like that name but not as much as Queen Midas, which do you like the best? Wait a sec what did you say, Ryan, oh my gosh, like mega babe, when, the disco?! Tell me tell me!!" Amrit shouted out excitedly. Loz rolled her eyes and placed her finger over her mouth. "No!! Shush!!" Amrit carried on shouting. "tell me please, I am supposed to be you best friend, Ryan oh wowies, so coolies! Hes mega ho....Ryan, Gordon hi!!" Amrit looked completely embarrassed and kicked Gordon and Loz. "why didn't you tell me?!" She muttered under her breath.

Rachel ran up the track not looking back, nobody had overtaken her yet so maybe for once she was beating them all. Suddenly Rachel heard a voice, it was Justin. "Rachel Rachel!! Hi hi!!" "Dweeb!" Rachel thought dismissing his calls but looking over trying to wave him to stop distracting her. Suddenly a figure who had been lurking behind her overtook. Rachel was so angry, she came to a sharp halt chucked down her sweat bands and started crying from frustration and anger. Justin bit his lip and walked away. He'd blown it he could see, should he go and see her, no, she'd just bite his head off like she did when she got angry.
