* "The Pilot" (1.1)
Gary Hobson is a stockbroker whose world falls apart when he's thrown out by his wife and given an ultimatum by his boss. His luck begins to change, however, when a mysterious cat brings him a newspaper--with tomorrow's news. At first, Gary's advance access to race results and game score impresses his friends, but when Gary fumbles the opportunity to avert a near tragedy, he discovers his gift's true magnitude and the obligation that comes with it.

Dual disasters--a plane crash and a girl's hit-and-run death--are slated to occur on the same day at the same time, leaving Gary with an impossibe choice to make.

Gary's ex-wife, Marcia, finds his new confidence appealing and invites him out to dinner. But before he decides how he feels about it, there's another crisis: a terrified Chuck must deliver a baby.

In trying to deal with the headline "Thief Swipes Mayor's Dog," Gary befriends Chuck's odd Uncle Phil, who's grieving over his own dog's death. Meanwhile, a $20,000,000 lottery jackpot has Chuck's seeing dollar signs.

* "Gun" (1.8)
Bryce and Tommy Porter have gone through a lot of family upheavel recently--since their parents'divorce, money has been tight and their father, Mark, has been drinkly heavily. When Mark drinks he becomes violent, which has led their mother, Nikki, to have a restraining order imposed against him...and to purchase a .38 calibur hand gun, which she hides in her closet. In tomorrow's newspaper Gary reads about Tommy dying because Bryce accidentally shoots his brother with Nikki's hand gun. Posing as a guidance counselor Gary tries to befriend Nikki and prevent the impending tragedy. However, after retrieving the gun, Gary notes that the newspaper's headline now reads "Estranged Husband Kills Ex-Wife in Jealous Rage." Meanwhile, Nikki discovers that Gary has stolen the gun and demands that he return it to her. Gary is torn--one of the Porters will die whether or not he gives Nikki the gun. Gary reluctantly returns the gun but knowing that something very bad is about to come down, he and two uniformed police officers arrive at Nikki's house just in time to arrest Mark, who has broken inside, and prevent Tommy from accidentally shooting Bryce.

* "His Girl Thursday" (1.9)
After Gary saves a family from being blown away in a tornado, he renews his romance with newspaper reporter Meredith Carson.
Gary finally decides to pursue a relationship with the overly inquisitive journalist, but his happiness is cut short when he realizes that Meredith has used his early edition to further her career -- a betrayal that places her own life in jeopardy.
Meanwhile, when Chuck uses information gleaned from the stock pages of the early edition to become an instant millionaire, he gets tailed by the Securities Exchange Commission for insider trading. To add insult to injury, Chuck's brand new sports car is swept away by the tornado.
Note: This episode was apart of CBS's Twister Night with Twister themed episodes of each of it's series that night, Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman, and Walker Texas Ranger.

Gary tries to be gracious after learning that his ex-wife, Marcia (Rya Kihlstedt), is remarrying, even after he discovers the identity of her fiance. But a problem involving a troubled former co-worker could put an end to Marcia's romance - for good.

* "Christmas" (1.11)
It's Christmas Eve and though Chuck tries to tempt Gary to go skiing with him Gary opts to stay close to home--the Teddy Bear bomber is wreaking havoc on Chicago.
Chuck's plans to hit the slopes go awry when he's hauled off to jail because of several unpaid parking tickets. In Chuck's estimation his cellmate appears to be a third-rate street corner Santa Claus, but upon closer inspection, Chuck begins to suspect that this guy might be the "real thing." When Santa manages to steal the police sergeant's cell keys after faking a seizure, he and Chuck break out of jail together.
Gary and police detective Crumb, meanwhile, haven't had much luck in bringing the Teddy Bear bomber to justice. Feeling dejected when the Mayor takes him off the case, Crumb joins Gary in polishing off a few beers at McGinty's Yet the bomber is closer than they know.

* "Frostbit" (1.12)
A homeless boy who lifted Gary's wallet faces freezing to death unless Gary can free him from an abandoned warehouse. Due to a deep freeze cold snap Chuck moves in Gary and takes over. Gary gets trapped in the warehouse with the homeless boy and faces dying the same way until Chuck finds the paper and sees Gary's obituary. NOTE: This is the first episode without Chuck's moral narations at the beginning and end.

Unless you are a member of the screen writer's guild don't submit anything with out being a) asked, b) getting an agent, c) unless you really think it's what is needed and has not been done before. Otherwise it get's thrown away to keep CBS or any of the production companies from being sued. It's okay to speculate. Just try to keep it to yourself.
