Kate Winslet was born into an acting family on October 5, 1975 in Reading, England. At age eleven she attended the Redroof Theatre School, which she left at age sixteen to make her first commercial for Sugar Puffs. In earlier years she starred in numerous British T.V. shows, but has successfully proven herself on the big screen. She has since proven her talents in such films as "A Kid in King Arthur's Court," "Jude," "Heavenly Creatures," "Sense and Sensibility," "Hamlet," and last years film "Titanic."
