At a time when many movies are trying to tone things down and take advantage of the latest trends, comes this trilogy that goes for balls to the wall action and enough gore for 3 monster flicks. Instead of trying to justify their violence or make their characters likable they go for the kind of raw exploitation that died out in the 70s. Instead of casting a bunch of hams and bimbos who couldn't act to save their lives they cast such stars as Harvey Keitel, George Clooney, Robert Patrick, and Michael Parks.
