General Info
About a year ago I read that Cameron was in pre-production on a project about colonization of Mars. According to the article, Cameron had done some preliminary drawings of landing vehicles and habitat structures. They were reportedly very good and even impresses several aerospace engineers.
The project was going to be two fold. One part was going to be a 1 hour IMAX movie, which would be the first time that a major director did an IMAX film. The other part was going to be a mini-series. The mini-series is being developed for Fox, as is Cameron's TV show Dark Angel.
Crew
James Cameron (Executive Producer, Director, Designer) - I have heard that he will be directing the hour long IMAX film, making him the first A-list director to do an IMAX film. He will also be the Executive Producer on the whole project. I do not know if he will be doing any writing at all or if he will do any directing on the TV mini-series
Kim Stanley (Writer) - She wrote a trilogy of books about Mars that Cameron is taking the basic story from.
