Everlasting Love

From Soap Opera Digest - July 21, 1998

1992: Nora Gannon followed her daughter, Rachel, to Llanview. When Rachel refused to return to Chicago, Nora simply relocated. Before long, the feisty attorney was butting heads with Police Commissioner Bo Buchanan. Then Bo was in a car crash that took the life of his fiancee, Sarah; devestated, he almost jumped to his death.

1993: Together, Nora and Bo searched for the hit-and-run driver, and on New Year's Eve, shared their first kiss. Though Nora was crazy about Bo, she didn't think he was ready to move on. Nora began having blackouts and suspected she had run Bo and Sarah off the road. On the night Bo planned to propose, Nora revealed her fear, but her innocence was proven, and he popped the question.
Nora was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and underwent surgery without telling her fiancee. When Bo learned what was up in the ER, he rushed to her side, and took her to a beach house to recuperate. While Bo was away on business, Nora had a bout of temporary blindness. She was home alone, when her ex-client, rapist Todd Manning, escaped from prison and broke in to attack her. Bo arrived in the nick of time.

1995: With Bo and Nora taking their sweet time about tying the knot, their friends planned a wedding. The conventionality of the preceedings gave the bride and groom a case of cold feet. Fortunately, a performance by Little Richard warmed them up, and they went through with the ceremony.

1996: To bust an Irish terrorist group, the "Men Of 21," Bo went undercover as Major Austin and was almost killed... Later in the year, he was shot by one of Carlo Hesser's henchmen, and lay in a coma. Nora kept vigil, and he recovered.

1997: Pregnant - at her age? That's what a stunned Nora suspected. Just when she came to terms with the blessed event, the diagnosis came in: perimenopause.... In an unrelated event, Nora hired an assistant, Georgie, who turned out to be a psycho.

1998: The arrival of Nora's attractive ex-flame, Sam Rappaport, created tension for Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan. That was nothing compared to what happened next. When Bo rebuked Georgies amorous advances, the schemer used a doctored videotape to convince Nora that she and Bo were doing the nasty. After Georgie turned up dead, Bo was arrested for murder, but eventually, the truth was revealed (Rachel did it.) Now, Bo and Nora are working to get their marriage back on track - and keep it there.
