Hillary's Interview For OLTL's 30th Anniversary

July 31, 1998

Do you have a favorite Nora / Bo scene?

I have lots of them. I think just about any scene that they had to do together of import is my favorite. Everything from humor to sincerity. I treasure all of the moments. A favorite scene? I guess there was a scene when we danced in the empty apartment. Woody (Bob Woods - Bo) choreographing and me following and we did sort of a Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers number. That was nice.

Have they pulled any funny pranks or jokes on you?

One was during my first year on the show. We were doing these scenes where Nora moves into Bo’s house and they said OK, we have to do one more scene. They made me go to the door and they gave me a count and said you have to open the door. So they gave me a cue and I walked up to the door and I opened it and there was a birthday cake there. Of course it was two large bosoms, but it was a birthday cake none the less. The cast and crew all sang Happy Birthday.

What was your first day like?

I was all by myself and it was a phone call to Hank. As a matter of fact, for about the first 3 weeks, I would come in and do a one way phone call. Everyone in the studio would already be gone. I had hardly met anyone in the cast because I’d come in late and do my little phone call. It’s like acting in a vacuum. You have no idea. Here you are, establishing a character all by yourself in a room.

If you could play another character for a day, who would it be?

Oh, Blair! I want to be naughty. I’d love to be naughty and nasty. I always wanted to play the nasty one. I just think I’d be so good at it.

Who would you like to work more with?

Oh, I have fun working with Robin Strasser (Dorian). Erika Slezak (Viki) and I don’t get to work together very often. I like to work with everybody. There’s nobody I don’t like to work with.
