Night At The Movies

Aristocats (1972) (Disney)  
Synopsis:

    Duchess, a cat, and her kittens are heirs to a vast fortune, with the butler, Edgar, recieving the fortune only after the cats have passed away.  The butler does it in this story, and he takes the cats away from the home, leaving them in the country to fend for themselves.  Thinking he has gotten away with it, he returns home.  The cats are helped by a tom cat named Thomas O'Malley.  He takes them back to Paris, and with his friends, reveal Edgar for the jerk that he is.

Miscellaneous:
        Maurice Chevalier came out of retirement to record the title song as a tribute to the late Walt Disney.  He had starred in Disney's In Search of the Castaways.

MPAA Rating:
    G  Animated violence (dog bites).

My Rating:
    While it is Disney, this is not a classic.  The seventies through the eighties were a rough period for Disney, and finding likable stories was a difficult task.  While the animation is good, the story does not hold up.
