The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) (Warner Brothers)

Synopsis:

Hudsucker Industries has just had its most profitable year in business, and as he learns this, the owner, President and CEO, Wearing Hudsucker, jumps out the window of the Board of Directors conference room, down 45 stories to his death.  At the same moment Mr. Hudsucker dies, a new employee, Norville Barnes, is sent with a letter to the Vice President.  Before he gets there, the VP and Board of directors realize that they can have all of the stock which belonged to the late Mr. Hudsucker.  They decide to get a new president who will drive the price of the stock down, cheap enough to buy up mass quantities of it.  They hire Norville to be the one to drive down the stock, but, as the box art of the video says, "he throws them for a hoop!"

My Rating:
This is a fun movie, but one of those that you have to be in a mood in to appreciate (like any Monty Python movie).  It is quirky, and full of odd little twists.  If you like to watch a movie that breaks from traditional movie storytelling.
