Night At The Movies

It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World (1963) (MGM/UA)

Synopsis:

A car carrying a bank robber goes over a cliff.  Five people who see what happened go down to where he landed to see if he was all right.  Before he dies, he tells them of a treasure he buried beneath a big "W" in Santa Rosita, California.  The five men and the three women they left in the cars above begin a crazy race to find the money.  Some fly, others drive, and one is even relegated to a girls bicycle.  Joining the chase is a police detective who has searched for this fortune for years, knowing that these people will lead him to it.  Cameos are packed in, from Don Knotts to the Three Stooges, to Jerry Lewis.  The greatest surprise comes after the treasure is found!

My Rating:
Hilarious.  I often do not enjoy films made prior to my existence, but this is one of the great ones.  It combines a road movie with the suspense of trying to guess who will win out.  If you have any doubts, just rent it.  It is great.
