Night At The Movies

The Three Calballeros (1945) (Disney)

Synopsis:
A look at South America through the eyes of Donald Duck and his friends Jose Caricoa and Panchito.  It comprises several segments, including Pablo the Cold Blooded Penguin, the Flying Burrito (the animal, not the food), and Baia -- a trip to the Brazilian town.

Availability:
VHS:  Standard format (no widescreen back then)

Miscellaneous:
The Three Calballeros is in some ways a sequel to Saludos Amigos, which also included several shorts to make up a movie, and introduced Jose Carioca.
Jose Carioca is the name of one of the parrots of Disneyland and Disneyworld's The Enchanted Tiki Room.

MPAA Rating:
G

My Rating:
Beautiful animation, wonderful stories, good music, and seems to take forever to watch.  It is a good movie, but unless you are an animation lover, Disney freak, or South American afficianado, stay away.  I always reccomend that people always try something new and different, so don't think I believe this is a bad film.  In fact, it is wonderful, but I would not reccomend getting it for your children in the hopes that it will replace their love for The Little Mermaid.
