Reception Honoring Mr. Gary Kerr Cloud Room of Kiewit's Plaza Club Saturday, February 20, 1999 Omaha, Nebraska

On February 20th, a reception was held to highlight the extraordinary broadcasting career of Mr. Gary Kerr.

Over 100 people, from family to friends to co-workers (past & present), attended the party.

Three people spoke about Mr. Kerr and his 34 years at WOWT: present WOWT news director John Clark; former WOWT news director Mr. Steve Murphy; and former WOWT photographer Mr. Dave Hamer.

The lights dimmed and a video highlighting Mr. Kerr's career was viewed. The video was edited by WOWT photographer Ray Meints, set to Billy Joel's song "This Is The Time."

Mr. Kerr thanked the crowd for attending. He said he would always remember the people he worked with over the years. A standing ovation capped his remarks.
