Timmothy Olyphant stars as Officer Brett Faraday, a new rookie on the force learning the in's and out's of the El Camino police department.
Brett was introduced near the end of the second season as a teen attending high school. He became close friends with Jim Marsh's daughter, and fit in well at school. However, his friendship with Jim's daughter came to an abrupt halt as Jim suspected Brett for   drug trafficing... particularly black tar heroin. Once Marsh caught Faraday actually dealing drugs, it was revealed that Brett was working undercover for the LAPD. His friendship with Marsh's daughter soon came to an end as Brett then transferred to the ECPD.
Brett spent his first week on the job with his training supervisor, Jim Marsh. Despite a few minor mishaps he was gladly welcomed by the force. During the second season finale Brett was dispatched to a road block with Len Gayar. Brett then accompanied Gayar to the hospital as he took a bullet to the stomach.
