Being pregnant is a situation. It ain't a story line," huffs Another World's Victoria Wyndham (Rachel) about not having much to do on the soap recently other than wait for the stork. "I'm grateful to [head writer] Michael Malone for creating some drama out of what's no more than a situation, but, okay, she's had the babies. I'm still waiting to see if I [get] a story line." To make matters worse, Wyndham says she can't quite see how her character fits into the show's upcoming plots. "I know what they say: 'Oh, Rachel's the core family,' and stuff like that," states Wyndham, who celebrates her 25th anniversary on AW next week. "Well," she continues with a hint of a rise in her voice, "show me how to act 'core.' So now I'm passing around a plate of cookies and listening to everybody's problems? That's worth staying for? I don't think so." So, is Wyndham looking to depart this World? "I always think about leaving," she says. "It's important to have one foot trailing out the door. It keeps you honest. If things cease to be interesting and [AW] ceases to be a place where I can really contribute, then it's better to move on." Leaving, though, would be hard. "God, how could I leave Rachel?" Wyndham wonders. "It would be like divorcing a twin. She alone would put up an enormous fuss."
