"I like my life, there's nothing wrong with my life." Sarah Michelle Gellar-interview
"We’ll be starting in a few moments."
An aspiring young actress nods, immediately followed by a smile. Though her moment of happiness soon fades away. She pushes her hair back behind her ears and begins to stare in an endless void. The warm bright lights overhead almost blind her. The thoughts of past occurances gone bad race through her mind. Everything from past relationships, to misleading stories expressed through the first amendment, to misunderstood words taken out of context...all experienced in front of the worlds’ eyes. She’s been judged horribly, mostly by people who only know her through her work, people who haven’t even met the real person behind the mask she puts on everyday. The critisim over the past few months have torn away at her fragile state, leaving her almost without hope, but through most needed family and friends, and much needed encouraging words, she is able to forget the scandal that has taken a part of her life and created it immortal to the public. Slowly the smile returns as confidence overpowers the depression. The long awaited sigh is released and her focus on the interview is back.
"Are you ready?"
The life in the spotlight, under the public eye, can be a life few wished they had; and the ones experiencing it, wouldn’t wish it upon their worst enemy. The life of a star can be both extraordinary and catastrophic. Everything they feel, we feel. Through our intense lust for their secrets, lies and videotapes, their existence sometimes becomes an unbearable obstacle to overcome. But stars seem to look past the downside of a private life, putting the thought of never being able to walk into a store without being hassled in the back of their mind. As their success grows, the older, wiser, elderly stars of Hollywood warn and patronize the newcomers with a laugh that they are about to get themselves wrapped up in a lifestyle that only can be told by someone who has survived it. Now Silver Screens will bring you into their world...cover your eyes by the flashing balls of the paparazzi, check your breasts-make sure the wonderbra is in place, put on that big smile and mingle with a glass wine and an early buzz!
"I would have not been able to play this role had I not understood love of a tremendous magnitude, and for that I thank my family, my mother, Blythe Danner, who I...I love more than anything, and..and my brother Jake Paltrow who is just the dearest person in the whole world, my earthly guardian angel Mary Wigmor, um and especially to my father Bruce Paltrow who has surmounted insurmountable obstacles this year, I love you more than anything in the world, and to my grandpa Buster, who almost made it here tonight but couldn’t quite get here, grandpa I want...I want you to know that you created a beautiful family who loves you and loves each other more than anything and we thank you for that. Uh...I would like to dedicate this to two young men who lost their lives very early, Harrison Kratitz and my cousin Keith Paltrow, we miss you very much and I thank you, thank you so much everybody." Gywenth Paltrow-Oscar.99 speech
"I'm definitely a fan of playing characters that have a moment that's dramatic- that have something that makes people feel real deeply."-Jennifer Love Hewitt
"Am I worried about sudden fame? Well you know, I guess you can only prepare yourself for so much until it happens. I think it would be a good thing if it happened but not to such an extent as Leonardo [DiCaprio]'s fame, that can be a blessing and a curse."-James Marsden
"My next project, hopefully, if all things go as planned, is to do 'The Next Best Thing' in L.A. with RUPERT EVERETT. It's about two people who are best friends, and I really want to have a baby. I've had a series of failed romances, and my best friend who is gay and I think, well, you're my best friend, I'm going to love you forever. Why don't I just have a baby with you? And we decide to have a baby together, and then all the things that come up good and bad when that sort of unconventional situation when two people have a baby in that unconventional arrangement. So it's funny and it's tragic, and it's very true to life."-Madonna "When I was fourteen, I had a really good friend -- this girl told me that if I ever kissed anybody, that I should practice with my hand, and that would work. So, I would kiss my hand and look in the mirror (laughs). But that was all kid stuff, you know teenagers."-David Fumero
