Radius is the brash and cocky rookie member of Alpha Flight. He constantly generates a force-field which protects him from impacts. He can also project his forcefield outward to manipulate other objects. Both Radius and his younger half-brother, Flex, were residents of the Boarding House in Orloo, Canada, where Department H secretly recruits young mutants from.
Ramrod

Ramrod is a member of Mr Sinister's Nasty Boys. Ramrod has the ability to expand or shrink any wood material. He can shape and form the wood to his will. To a lesser extent, he can control plants as well through the wood in their trunks. He carries with him a wooden staff so that he always has a source of wood around.

Random is a mutant with the ability to counteract other mutants' powers and he can shape his forearms into gun barrels and fire an unknown form of energy. Random was a mutant bounty hunter who was once hired by the US Government to capture Polaris, but had aided X-Factor on many occassions until he was lured into helping the Dark Beast capture Havok. Random was secretly only a teenager, his morphing ability helped him hide this fact, and the Dark Beast threatened to reveal this fact to Polaris, whom Random was in love with. He eventually warned X-Factor of the Dark Beast's plans but by then it was too late, Havok had been given greater control over his powers by the Dark Beast and decided to remain a free agent. Random recently returned to aid Havok against the Dark Beast, and remained with the Dark Beast's freed captives who were suffering from the Legacy Virus.

Illyana was the younger sister of the X-Man Colossus. Her powers first manifested when she was kidnapped by Arcade. She escaped by opening a portal that took her to Limbo where she encountered Belasco. The X-Men followed Illyana, and attempted to escape with her. The portal had almost closed by the time they had left, and Illyana emerged from the portal as a 14-year old girl (due to time accelerating at a different rate in Limbo). During the years she had spent in Limbo, Illyana was taught in the arts of black magic. Illyana joined the New Mutants and took the codename Magik. What she didn't know was that each time she used her magic it was bringing her dark side to the surface. This dark side eventually manifested as the Darkchylde during Inferno, but just as everyone thought she had died she returned as the young girl she was before entering Limbo. Returned to Russia, she was again brought back to the US after her parents were murdered, where it was revealed she had contracted the Legacy Virus of which she was the first recorded mutant victim. It has since been revealed that her brother Mikhail, when he travelled back in time to attempt to stop Illyana's death, was the one that actually infected Illyana with the Legacy Virus.

Reignfire first appeared when he freed three members of the original Mutant Liberation Front to join the new version he had formed. He captured Henry Gyrich which led to a confrontation with X-Force during which Tempo betrayed the MLF, but Reignfire managed to lure Feral into joining his team. Just before the timeline was altered to become the Age of Apocalypse, it was revealed that Reignfire was really Sunspot, but it wasn't revealed how this occurred. Somehow Cable managed to free Sunspot from the Reignfire persona, but it seems that the Reignfire persona has now gained physical form and has returned to plague X-Force once more.

He was seemingly killed by Storm using some of Marrow's bone-daggers.
Reyes, Cecilia

Cecilia Reyes was once asked by Charles Xavier to join the X-Men three years ago, but she refused, wanting instead to continue with her career as a medical doctor. When one of her patients died and woke up as a Prime Sentinel, she was attacked but was saved by Iceman. She, along with Marrow, Iceman and Sabra confronted Bastion in the conclusion to Operation Zero Tolerance. She stayed in the X-mansion for a short time but now has left and opened her own private practice. Cecilia has the mutant power of being able to generate a forcefield 6 inches away from any part of her body, which can protect her from harm (although she can still feel the impact of a blow).

Franklin Richards is the son of Reed and Susan Richards of the Fantastic Four. Born a mutant, Franklin's powers are slowly manifesting as he gets older. He will eventually possess the power to shape reality as he wants, becoming the most powerful individual on the planet. The sum manifestation of his powers was revealed when he was captured and used as an energy source by Onslaught. After the destruction of Onslaught and the supposed "death" of his parents, he was placed into Banshee's care by his grandfather Nathaniel. Since being with Generation X, Franklin has become fast friends with both Artie and Leech. During Black Tom's attack, Franklin, along with Artie, Leech, Howard the Duck, and Tana Nile, were taken to an alternate dimension by the Man-Thing. After the return of the heroes, who had been in a world created by Franklin, he now is back with his family.
Rictor

Rictor was first discovered by X-Factor when he was being used as a weapon by the Right organisation. Freeing him, they took him in as a ward, and Julio ended up becoming a member of the X-Terminators group. Later joining the New Mutants, he left shortly after Cable took over leadership of the team, as he believed Cable was responsible for the death of his parents (it was, in reality, Stryfe that killed them). Rictor later returned and joined X-Force, and formed a close friendship with Shatterstar. Leaving the team for personal reasons, he recently returned after Shatterstar was having identity problems.
Riptide

Riptide is a member of the Marauders, a team of villains brought together by Mr Sinister. During the Mutant Massacre, Riptide was responsible for severely injuring Nightcrawler and Colossus. Killed by Colossus, he returned to die once more during the Inferno, but Sinister has the technology to keep cloning them. Recently the Marauders targetted Threnody for Sinister's purposes, but were stopped by X-Man.

Not much is known about the past of the young woman known only as Rogue. Adopted by Mystique at a young age after her mutant power first manifested when she absorbed the memories of a young boy when he kissed her, Rogue was trained in her powers and joined Mystique's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. During this time, Rogue encountered Ms. Marvel (see Binary), and absorbed all of her powers and memories permanently. Eventually traumatised by this, Rogue sought help from Charles Xavier and ended up joining the X-Men. Rogue became enamoured of Gambit, but left the X-Men for a time when she kissed him and, absorbing his memories, discovered something disturbing about his past. During her absence from the X-Men she came across the young Magneto, and returned to the X-Men with him. Rogue recently declared her love for Gambit, but Gambit has rejected her claiming that the events of his past cannot allow her to love him.
Roughhouse

Roughhouse was once an enforcer for the Prince of Madripoor. He was captured by Geist and injected with the Spore serum which sent him mad, and Geist sent him after Wolverine. Healed by Sister Salvation, he aided Wolverine and La Bandera in defeating the Spore creature that Geist created.
Ruckus
