Nate Grey was created in the Age of Apocalypse reality by Mr Sinister from the DNA of the Jean Grey and Cyclops of that reality to be used as a weapon against Apocalypse. Appearing in this reality after entering the M'Kraan Crystal, Nate sought help in the form of Jean Grey but ended up psionically recreating the deceased Madelyne Pryor. Nate initially viewed the X-Men with suspicion after a failed encounter with Charles Xavier, but after he was captured by Onslaught and then rescued by the X-Men, he is not so suspicious of them. He has formed a romance with Threnody, and a friendship of sorts with Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man. Nate possesses vast telekinetic and telepathic powers, far more than Cable (his genetic double) as Nate is not restricted by the techno-virus as Cable is.
