Zero is the prototype "Adam Unit," number 0 of 13 androids manufactured in the alternate future where Stryfe hailed from. These androids were meant to maintain a very fragile peace on a very fragile world, capable of energy absorption and emission on a vast scale, using these abitites to detect, teleport to, and disable (by any means necessary) any weapon or hostile force in a vicinity, including violent people. Zero was somehow captured by Stryfe and reprogrammed to only serve him, using mostly his teleportation abilities to open gateways for Stryfe and the Mutant Liberation Front. When Stryfe was killed and the MLF scattered, the mysterious man known as Tolliver acquired the android. When searching for this weapon, Deadpool ran into several arch-enemies, and in the violence, the Zero Unit was activated, somehow not limited by Stryfe's reprogramming, by Deadpool's assistant, Weasel. After neutralising all threats, Zero teleported away. However, Zero was soon persued by hunter-killer droids who sensed his activation and were programmed to delete all Stryfe-related information after his death. This drove Zero into hiding, and he sought allies by becoming friends with Douglock, who had been recently revived by the Phalanx, and fighting alongside Excalibur. His emerging self-awareness also brought about the revelation that he held the answers to curing the Legacy Virus. Unfortunately, in order to destroy the remaining base belonging to Stryfe, Zero was forced to sacrifice himself and the information of the virus. The android Eleven is another in the Adam Unit line.
