Summary:As the commanding officer of SGC, general Hammond is entrusted with not only the safety of his officers, but the entire planet as well. With the goa'uld threat, general Hammond must make sure that the actions of the SG teams will not put the people of Earth in danger.
At times general Hammond can seem hard and uncaring. However in the end is good morals ans concern for his officers shines through.
Not much is known about general Hammond. Like any good commanding officer the general is a private man. All in all Hammond is a first class officer who is fully committed to SGC.

Summary:After the death of his only son, Jack O'Neill was a wreak. O'Neill blamed himself because it was his own gun that caused his son, Charlie's, premature death.
After the original stargate mission to Abydos O'Neill returned to find that his wife, Sarah, had left him.
The retirement he sought after his return was ended a year later when Earth's stargate was reactivated by Apophis' serpent gaurds.
O'Neill now commands SGC's leading stargate team-SG-1.
As a result of his military training O'Neill would often prefer to take aggressive action. (As illustrated in Cor-Ai) However, his teammates are quick to point out that there is often another way. Also, many times O'Neill has failed to understand Daniel Jackson's desire to understand, but over time he has come to accept it.

Summary:Samantha Carter is an intelligent scientist and military officer who was denied participation in the original SG mission.
Once engaged Carter broke it off after realizing that her fiance was not all she thought he was.
Carter is a very good officer. Her mix of military and scientific training allow her to make decisions base on both technological and tactical advantages.
Other than her previous engagement not much is known about Carter's past.


Doctor Jackson

Spent a year on Abydos
Summary:On the original mission to Abydos Dr. Jackson met and married Abydan-Shau'ri. Jackson decided to remain on Abydos, upon returning to Earth Cln. O'Neill reported that Jackson had been killed.
A year later it was discovered that he was not dead. Using a kleenex box, Jackson, who suffers from severe allergies, was contacted on Abydos. After Shau'ri was taken as a goa'uld Dr. Jackson made the decision to join SG-1.
Dr. Jackson is an extremely intelligent scientist capable of understanding and deciphering ancient languages.
Other than the fact that Dr. Jackson was raised by foster parents his past remains relatively unknown.
