SUPER CHEEZ!

the REAL california cheez . . .

It seems like just yesterday that little Diva Velveeta was singing on the streets of the small cobblestone village in which she was raised. Looked upon as a local hero, she was the only hope that Smalltown, USA, would ever have to offer to society a star entrenched in their own likeness. Diva V set off on an adventure towards Hollywood, sponsored by the Bowling League of Smalltown, in search of fame, fortune and fine California cheese. After many failed attempts to be discovered in small and unknown karaoke bars, Velveeta had just about given up her dream when she rolled into One Eyed Jack’s for a stiff one on her last dime. It was here that she met the Cheezers and her world would change forever. With a plan to let success go to their heads, they formed Super Cheez and the rest is history. Voted “Best Live Act” at the Holiday Inn Lounge, Calipatria, California, this fab four serves up nothing but pure genius. Diva V chooses their repertoire with utter finesse, basing her song selections on the pain and torture she has endured while in search of love and acceptance in a town that seems to relish anything but that. “There seems to be at least one song in every performance that will reach out and grab your heart in one way or another” said Frank Airport of the Karoake News, “and this much is true… you will never forget them”.

UPCOMING GIGS:

Hey kids!! Guess what?! We celebrated 10 years of Super Cheez on May 31, 2003 at the Bamboo Terrace. The Diva of Velveeta started the show by giving birth live on stage!! To the Baby Cheezus! The party was fun but half you old kids didn't even show up... I know it's past most of your bedtimes, but anyway.

Special Thanks to SparkleJetsUK, and Foul Mudamma (who tried to rock even though their drummer didn't show up - WAH!).

The 10 year anniversary of Super Cheez marked the end of an era as the Diva is moving on to start another band, "Dirty Elvi's". This site will be updated as the project unfolds. We are working on our first set currently, and will be ready to *showcase* around Christmas time.

The Benefit for Billy Carter on Saturday, July 5, to raise money for Billy's treatment in Italy for arthritic lyme disease was a huge success. We raised over $9,000 total and Billy is receiving treatment now. Check back for more info on his recovery.

One of the many kookie projects the Diva of Velveeta was involved in, "Amanda Hugankiss and the Heavy Petters"...

Stay tuned for the new adventures ahead...

Yeah, these songs are cheezball,
but you gotta love them.

Some of the cheesiest music ever recorded!
Sounds best on pathetic vinyl.

mini-tribute to joe strummer

Monday, December 23, 2002, the world lost yet another punk legend, Mr. Joe Strummer. Both Joes (Ramone & Strummer) taken from this planet... so, so sad.

Goodbye Joe, we'll miss you.

All the times when we were close
I'll remember these things the most
I see all my dreams come tumbling down
I won't be happy without you around
So all alone I keep the wolves at bay
There is only one thing that I can say

R.I.P. JOE
