EPISODE ELEVEN: Goodbye ("Goodbye", Spice Girls.)

Isaac walked across every inch of that airport, for an hour, looking for her, he knew her flight would be around ten minutes away by now. Through a family friend called Marvin, who worked for the airport, Isaac had discovered there was only one flight that would eventually end up in Scotland that was boarding tonight, and that plane would be the one Ashley would be getting on.

So where was she?

According to his friend Ashley-Anne Douglas was booked on this flight, and Marvin had promised to hold back the announcement of the boarding until Isaac had at least found her, but Isaac had had no such luck.

Isaac felt himself aching. He couldn’t stand the thought of letting her go without one goodbye, not even some kind of display of affection towards each other. He needed something, after all, they’d never see each other again. He sighed and sat down on the waiting chairs, hearing all kinds of various announcements being called. He looked to the floor. He’d given up by now.

What am I gonna do? God, I love her, why can’t she see that?! Isaac was convinced if she tried she could love him, even for the last ten minutes on this earth they would ever have together.

Ike, what are you thinking, you could afford to fly over and see her any time you wanted…

Isaac paused, but would she stand for that? She’s avoided me at all costs lately.

Isaac looked up, and he couldn’t believe it, just as they were calling for the plane to be boarded, he saw her, walking towards the terminal, wearing a light grey dress with dark grey and navy flowers patterned over it, and a pair of high heels. She looked more beautiful than he’d ever seen her. He felt his heart jolt. He ran over, "Ash?!"

Ashley turned and looked at him, "I-Isaac," she stuttered, stopping in her tracks, "w-what are you doing here?"

Isaac looked at her, "I…couldn’t let you go without saying goodbye," he bit his lip. "You…you look beautiful," He murmured, his eyes roved her, and he wished he could hold her the way he’d been continually dreaming about for this last month.

She blushed and looked away, "Why do you keep doing this?" she asked in an embarrassed tone, .

"Because I care…and I can’t let go," he explained softly, he tucked his hair behind his ear, "I know you don’t think I’m really worth it, but if you’d just give me a chance…" he sighed.

"I can’t stay, you know that," she said firmly, "There’s nothing I can do…"

"We can correspond…call each other, there has to be some way…" he sighed.

She shook her head softly. "Sorry."

Isaac looked her straight in the eyes and she lifted hers to his, "then this really is goodbye…for good..."

"Ike, you’re acting like you’ve known me forever, its been something like two and a half months," she rolled her eyes as if she thought his behaviour was rather idiotic.

"I don’t care!" Isaac sighed, "I love you!" he outburst.

People around turned and looked, and Isaac felt himself blush for yelling it, he looked at her, "Why can’t you just accept it? Give me a chance."

"Because by tomorrow I’ll be half a world away," she reminded.

Isaac sighed, "Then…fine…goodbye," he sighed and turned to walk away, and she went to leave for her plane in misery, then, Isaac paused, turned. "Ash?" he asked.

Ashley stopped and turned, looking at him. "What?"

"I…you’re gonna be gone…I might never see you again…so…I was wondering…can…I have a hug…I…just something…" he was full of confusion with his sentence.

She gave a sigh, "Okay," she agreed.

Isaac stepped over to her and wrapped his arms around her, and pulled her to him, he held her lightly, and closed his eyes, "I’m gonna miss you…"

Ashley found this so silly, he didn’t KNOW her, yet he was going to miss her. She pulled her arms lightly around him and hugged him back, and then she let go and moved away, "I gotta board the plane," she sighed.

Isaac took her hand and placed a folded up piece of paper into it. "This…read this," he swallowed nervously, looking at her, "But not until you get on the plane," He sighed.

"I…okay," she nodded, and she put the piece of paper into her rucksack which was slung over her shoulder.

"I’ll miss you so much…" He bit his lip, tempted to kiss her, but she moved back too fast.

"I gotta go, bye Isaac," she said softly.

"Bye, Ashley," he whispered, and watched her going, and then she was gone, and now, his heart was left with a hole in it.
