Theories on about The Borg.

How did the humans/others at Wolf 359 in the Alpha Quadrant get to be in the Delta Quadrant and to the planet they are on now?

Like the Borg Queen said to Picard when he thought she was dead. She said that he was thinking to three dimensionally. The borg also have been known to transport themselves onto ships without Starfleet's technology being able to detect them, and we have no idea what the range limit of their transporters are so, it can be assumed that the borg simply transported the people from Wolf 359 to another borg ship in close approximation to a electric cloud or they were the first borg cube to make contact with Species 2479.

And then, with more then 80,000 new assimilated Borg and more then 11,000 original Borg. They run into something huge enough to short out every circuit on the Borg cube either the species 2479 or an electric cloud in space (Hey, it's Star Trek anything is possible), disabling the Borg cube and shutting the original Borg down, but not killing them. This caused the new Borg's link to be severed from the rest of the Borg and any other Borg cube in the Quadrant and anywhere else. After the Borg cube is adrift for a couple of days they come upon a world, and immediately started transporting down to the surface (don't ask me how they beamed down with no power, maybe each Borg has its own transporter device hooked up on them) after leaving the ship, they started removing their appendages and implants the Borg added to them.

Approx. Five years after Wolf 359 USS Voyager is launched from Deep Space Nine.

Trapped in the Delta Quadrant they spend the next two years heading for the Alpha Quadrant.

Star date 50612.5: Chakotay and Kaplan landed in the shuttle-craft on the planet responding to a Federation distress call, but are attacked Chakotay is wounded and Kaplan is dead. While on the planet for the next three days he discovers that the people were all Borg, brought back from Wolf 359, and falls for one of the former female Borg. These former Borg says they can heal Chakotay's wounds by linking his mind with a few other former Borg with a neural responder (created by the Borg). While in this link Chakotay sees the thoughts of the former Borg and sees no hidden agenda.

When Voyager comes to find out what's going on and pick up Chakotay. The former Borg asks Janeway if she would help them reactivate the neural generator of the Borg cube. Janeway says NO WAY, but says she would give those supplies and an offer to come aboard Voyager. Chakotay and Torres are coming back from the planet. The small group of former Borg (using the link when Chakotay was wounded as a connection) calls out to Chakotay to help them to reactivate the neural generator themselves. When "The New Co-operative" (apparently they feel they aren't Borg) is done; they blow the Borg cube up and hail Voyager. They explain what they did, said they severed the link between them, and apologized for their actions.

When the Enterprise D kidnapped Picard, destroyed the Borg cube, they thought Picard's link with the Borg was severed (including the doctor), but as they found out later it aren't severed. When "The New Collective" said they severed the connection with Chakotay; the crew of Voyager thought the link was severed.

The New Co-operative earlier said their medical technology was very primitive, and when Voyager scanned the planet they didn't find too much technology on the planet (This could mean that they [The New Co-operative] really didn't understand the Borg technology or that when the link was severed between the original Borg that they lost information about the technology of the Borg ship). If this is so Chakotay could probably be linked with other Borg and hear them like Picard.

Now neither Picard nor Chakotay is under control of the Borg, but if they could still hear the Borg they can use that for when the Borg does attack. Hey remember Picard heard the Borg and found out exactly where to destroy their cube and the Borg Queen (okay with a little help from Data, too).

Bryan E. Esquire:
I believe the explanation was the elevated neuro peptide levels in the brain. This considerably enhanced the telepathic abilities of the person. Obviously, the Borg have found a way to enhance telepathic abilities, organically and mechanically. So, if he implants are not there, the brain will still be able to somewhat access the collective consciousness.
This is was happened to Picard. This is what happen to Chakotay. The Borg use some sort of subspace signal to form the collective. In addition to the artificial link, the brain's telepathic abilities are used.
I'm sure if the Borg are encountered again, Chakotay may have some residual effects from the link.

In "Scorpion (part 1 or 2)" Chakotay says he was linked to the hive mind and Picard also said he was linked to the hive mind. Now Picard can actually hear the Borg song if in direct contact this maybe possible because the Borg actually injected him. In Chakotay's case he was only linked with a Neutral thingamajig (yes, this is my technical term). So his link might have only been temporary like the New Co-Operative said, but he still might have it.

Why All Borg look alike?

Jaden:
Interesting ideas. What do you think of this, why do all the borg seem to be altered humans? here are the klingon-borgs, now in the new collective, they do have some romulan-borg, but that's about it. Of all the alien races the borg have conquered, they seem to be almost all human. What if the borg used to be fully human at one time, and altered themselves when they acquired the technology. Could the borg be ancient kind of the humans?

I like your idea, and I see what you are say about the alien races but if you remember in the episode the lady-former-borg told Chakotay that when they were separated from the other they realized they were with other races that were naturally enemies. This assuming and taking in account all the races in the alpha/beta quadrant(s) that were enemies (Romulan/Klingon(Caradissian/and pretty much everyone else) (Sisko/and the Marquis) anyways you get my picture. All those aliens take on human characteristic at some level and it the episode the Romulan didn't really look like a Romulan so a Klingon might not look like a Klingon after assimilation. I have another theory on how the Borg came to be, which has to do with an ancient civilation called 'The Preservers' mentioned in the TNG episode "The Chase" which mentions why all aliens have humanoid form. In the theory I believe the Borg was basically the first humanoids and the Borg Queen *MIGHT HAVE BEEN* the first, but don't quote me one that. Anyways, I'm guessing 'The Preservers' were in a big war or something and they created the Borg as an unstoppable weapon to destroy their enemy, but the Borg turned on them and started wiping them out. So they seeded many worlds in the galaxy. That would live on afterwards continuing on afterwards.

In this case, we have to remember that during the episode "Best of Both Worlds," Crusher suggested that Locutis's DNA was being rewritten at the cellular level. Also, his skin hue shifted from normal to the characteristic Borg blue midway through that episode. Those would seem to suggest that the Borg alter assimilated species to increase redundancy and conformity, somewhat like Kurt Vonnegut's story "Harrison Bergeron." Certainly the philosophy of a decentralized hive-mind wouldn't be helped by having some individuals be strong, others smart, etc. The Borg are based on colective identity, which would require all differences marking individuals be removed. But why humanoid? Why not giant insects or big purple dinosaurs?
Two possible explanations:
The first: it may be that vast majority of sentient species in this galaxy are humanoid. The Borg simply standardize the creatures they assimilate by genetically removing extraneous physical details, such as big ear-lobes or forehead-ridges, and keeping only the core physical form, which is pretty much the same for all humanoids.
The second: The Borg may have originally been humanoid creatures that looked very much like humans. Since the Borg consider they perfection, they simply rewrite the genetic code of others to make them Borg species. Along the same lines, Borg technology may only be compatible with that species, so the "assimilatee" may have to be physically altered first.

And then there is some theories that just complete make no sense to the Star Trek theory, but still make you think. Like who was the first Borg (Or was Homer the First Borg?)???

Mujtaba
I think the first borg was Homer Simpson. He was stupid enough to find out new technology that linked things and he linked his apelike planet. Then the borg gave him knowledge so he wasn't stupid anymore. He conquered and conquered until Marge the borg queen overthrows him and goes on. (I have proof. Goto Homer the Borg to see the pic also check out my page it is funny you gotta see it!

Homer of Borg
She had proof about two years ago. The page has long since disappeared, luckily I did manage to download the picture before it disappear

How do 7 of 9 remember Zefram Cochrane’s ship, the Borg Queen, and various other topics?

Seven of Nine could of been on the Enterprise E and then just transported herself to another borg ship or when she was talking to Tuvok about death she mentioned that every Borg’s memory is kept and remembered so this could mean that all the borg though time are linked no matter where they are, unless your name is Hue, Picard/Locutus, or 7 of 9 and you managed to break the link with the borg.

Could it be possible that the Borg visited the Neutral Zone before Q flung the Enterprise D?

I believe so, because when watching a re-run of ST:TNG "Q Who" Data said that he found a M class planet with a high civilation that looked like all the cities were scooped off the planet like what happened in the Neutral Zone. So the question is why the Borg didn’t start assimilating the Alpha Quadrant then.
