Fade In

We see an art table, at it sits Sonny Malone, an aspiring artist....who had seemed to lose his "edge." Sonny worked at Airflow Records, in the art department. He had painted album covers for a living, until he quit to work on his art. We then see a mural painted on a wall....it is of 9 woman, the wall begins to come alive.....each woman coming alive one at a time as the song "I'm Alive" plays......each woman seems to have a glow around her.....as if spiritual.....They each take off in different directions around LA then shoot up to the heavens......but one comes back "down to earth."

We then see Sonny walking along the beach.....a girl....a beautiful girl, blonde with blue eyes...looking like an angel runs into him while skating.....and kisses him! Then skates away and disappears. Sonny is blown away! He doesn't know what to think. All he knows is that he has to find out who this girl is. The next day Sonny is handed an album cover to paint. Guess who is on the cover? Yup you guessed it! The same girl! Sonny goes to find out who she is....nobody knows....he asks the photographer who tells him she just suddenly popped into frame, he liked it so he used the picture.

Sonny is hanging some of his paintings outside of a record store when he meets Danny McGuire. Danny a musician, invites Sonny over to his house to see his record collection. Sonny being a big fan of "Glenn Miller" accepts. It is there, while looking thru Danny's collection, Sonny sees the same girl, the one who kissed him, in an old 1940's USO album of Danny's, when Danny used to play for Glen Miller during W.W.II. Sonny can't believe his eyes. He knows that is the same girl.  Sonny then goes back to work and Danny does some reminiscing of his own. We then see him remember when he and his "girl" used to sing and dance at the shows while the "Whenever You're Away From Me" production number plays
