Jossie and the Pussy Cats Characters created by Dan Decarlo.Josie and the Pussycats followed the adventures of an all-girl rock and roll group as they traveled the world playing gigs and solving mysteries. Dan DeCarlo created these character’s in the late 1950’s, at first he wanted to called his book  "Here's Josie", named after his wife, and inspired by a costume she had worn to a party. He tried, unsuccessfully to sell the idea as a strip to various comic strip syndicates. Eventually he brought the idea to Archie Comics, who published it as Josie and the Pussycats comic book in 1963. The stories followed the day-to-day adventures of Josie and her girlfriend Melody.  During the 1960s, Josie and Melody became a Hanna-Barbara cartoon show on CBS in Saturday mornings. Turning Josie and Melody into a rock band, along with new friend Valerie. Singer/guitarist Josie was the level-headed leader, drummer Melody added zaniness with her half-witted remarks and effervescent charm, and tambourinist Valerie, she was the brains of the group, typically saving the day with her intellect and know-how.

Along with the three Pussycats were roadie (and Josie's boyfriend) Alan, band manager Alexander Cabot III, his conniving sister Alexandra, and her mischiveous little cat, Sebastian. Bitter and talentless Alexandra had her eye on Alan, and constantly schemed to remove Josie from the scene so she could lead the band and have Alan all to herself. Alexander often got the band into hot water with his poorly booked tour dates and general cowardice.

The Villans of the First two Seasons. In the first season they fighted against memorable villains like Captain Nemo, Mastermind, Countess, Midas, Dr.Greenthumb, Mr. X, Dr. Madroux, Scorpion, Dr. Strangemoon, Secret Six, Evil Eye, Serpent, The Hawk, Shadow, Laser and Zor.   In the picture of the right you can see some of those villans that they encounter.  These were not villans a la Scooby Doo, these were actual Super Villans that wanted to take over the world using Hi-Tec devices or magical objects.

After two seasons on the air, Hanna-Barbera decided to send Josie’s gang in outer space in Josie and the Pussy Cats in Outer Space. Although the new 2 seasons were good, my favorite will always be the two first seasons in which the Josie’s gang solved mysteries while they travel the world singing their songs.

CHARACTERS PROFILE

Alan ALAN:
The leader of the group, always a good guy, he’s good mood never seems to be affected by anything that happens around him and he's almost as smart as Freddy Jones.

He’s very interested in Josie and one can see that in some of the early episodes of the first season.

Alexandra Cabot ALEXANDRA CABOT:
She’s like the troublemaker of the group, always trying to give problems with the help of her cat “Sebastian”, but her plans always fail.  Hates Josie and the Pussy Cats more than anything in the world, especially Josie for always being too close to Alan.  She has very bad temper and although she’s a troublemaker you can still consider her one of the good guys.

Alex Cabot III
ALEX CABOT III:
Alexandra’s little brother is the manager of the group, a good guy but a scary cat.  He has a cower less that can only be win by Shaggy and Scooby in a contest.  Sometimes he helps the group by giving ideas to solve the cases and sometimes he finds a clue or two by accident.

Josie James JOSIE JAMES:
She’s the main voice of her music group, a very smart and good girl that works with the others to solve the cases they encounter.   

She’s very interested in Alan; one can also see that in her in the early episodes of the first season.

Melody Jones
MELODY JONES:
A good girl but very clumsy =).  Most of the time her only job is to be the pretty and funny one of the group. Sometimes she helps the group to find clues by accident.

Sebastian SEBASTIÁN:
Like Alexandra he’s also a troublemaker, always helping Alexandra with her evil plans and making fun of her when the plans failed.  Sometimes he helps the group escape from an evil fortress or with a plan made by Alan, Alex or Valerie to solve the cases.

Valerie Smith
VALERIE SMITH:
She’s the most complete character of the 3 members of the music group, she’s very pretty and a genius. Always constructing devices to help the group with their cases.  Valerie is so smart that she can win in a contest against Velma; most of the time she has the answers for the misteries before any one else in the group.

Melody and Freddy Jones.STRANGE BUT TRUE

Melody Jones, the drummer of the group, is Freddy Jone's sister.  That's why she also has that same spirit for adventure that runs in  the Jones family.  Unfortunately she's not as smart as her brother,  but well no body is perfect =).

In the picture of the right, we see Freddy Jones with her sister. She's practicing before one of her concerts.

This a very Awesome Josie And The Pussycats CD Hits. The music CD Compilation is out of print and only supposedly a limited edition of 1300 were made. The blond in the middle is Cheryl Ladd when she was 19, who later played Kris Munroe on Charlies Charlie's Angels. At a side of her we see Catherine Dougher singing as Josie and above Patrice Holloway singing as Valerie. This CD has it all, 33 tracks contain the whole Josie album(scarce), 4 cereal records(2 minute alternate version of Josie), Josie in Outer Space Theme, bunch of versions of Josie and other weird stuff. They must of found master tapes, as it is clean and crisp. It is the ultimate Josie collection of songs.  ( Click on the cover to see the interior of this CD  )  With this CD heres all what you get:
