The Parr house is by far the scarriest location you are likely to find. It's fairly close to the road in Patapsco State Park. The area right around it is populated, still there is a desolate feeling as though you are alone in the wild. The house looms as you approach. Everything about this place scared the hell out of us! |
Approaching the house QuickTime w/ sound (2.3mb) |
From the trail, you will see the outside of the house in the distance, hidden in the trees.

The Basement QuickTime w/ sound (3.4mb) |
As we approached the house, we were drawn to a side entrance, from the outside, that led to the basement from the outside. As we entered the stairs, from the first floor (now removed), are on the left. You pass through a short, narrow hall and an old boiler is to your left. The corner where Mike stood as Heather screamed is to the right. In daylight you will notice there are several top level windows that let in enough light to record. No chance you'd find me down there at night!!

First Floor QuickTime w/ sound (2.0mb) |
From the front of the house you walk in facing the fireplace. This is the first view we get of the interior as Heather enters trying to catch up with Mike.

1st floor by the basement stairs QuickTime w/ sound (1.6mb) |
Here you will see the entrance to the basement from inside on the first floor. The broken apart stairs leading up to the second floor are right above. One may be able to climb up to the second floor, but from below it doesn't look like it would support too much weight. If you fell, you would land on rubble in the basement. Not a place i would want to spend any time unconscious...

Leaving the house ... ALIVE! QuickTime w/ sound (2.3mb) |
Strange noises got the best of us, so we stopped pushing our luck and went back to the car. This is the semi-circular path that leads behind the abandoned area where the Parr house is located.
