In 1976, a girl named Carrie caused
carnage in a high school with her telekenetic
powers. In 1999, one of her relatives (played by
Emily Berghl) treads a similar path after being
taunted one time too many by her classmates who
have obviously not paid attention to many teen horror movies (otherwise
they would have seen their fate coming a mile
away and treated her more nicely). The only redeeming features of this by-the-numbers
horror are a nice performance by Emily Berghl, an
appearance by Mena Suvari (American Pie, American
Beauty), and some cartoonishly gory violence
during the movie's inevitable climax.
