Queen Amidala
Queen Amidala is the elected ruler of the small planet of Naboo. When her home is invaded by the greedy Trade Federation she recieves help in the form of two Jedi Knights...Qui-Gon Jinn and his young apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi. When they learn of the Federation's plot to destroy the Queen and declare war on Naboo they decide to take her to Courscant so that she may present her case before the Imperial Senate. While on their way to Courscant they have engine trouble and are forced to land on the nearest planet not controlled by the Federation...Tatooine. Tatooine is a wretched hive of scum and villany and is controlled by a family of gangsters called the Hutts.
While on Tatooine Queen Amidala desguises herself as her own handmadien named Padme. She accompanies Qui-Gon when he goes to barter for parts in a near-by town called MosEspa. While in MosEspa "Padme" meets and befriends a young slave boy named Anakin. Anakin invites Qui-Gon and "Padme" to his ramshackle home for dinner with him and his mother. Qui-Gon discovers Anakin is strong in the force and wins him from his master Watto in a game of chance. Anakin accompanies Qui-Gon and "Padme" back to their ship. Qui-Gon plans to present Anakin to the Jedi Council...Anakin is the chosen one. While on their journey together Anakin and Queen Amidala(still disguised as Padme)realize their feelings for eachother.
When they reach Courscant , Amidala presents her case before the Senate to no avail. Naboo it seems is in mortal danger. . .
